Plot – Spoilers:
A sentimentally tragic opening music theme portends a light, yet enjoyable, ’70s exploitation flick from Italy.
Alice, a young Italian woman, played by a German, is grabbed off the streets and taken to a farmstead. The idea isn’t sexual but ransom. The ringleader is a blind man who’s always playing the piano, but the actual kidnappers are three men varying in their plebness:
Gino can’t stop gambling and lies to his mates about the advance received, frittering it away.
Paolo always looks depressed and side-hustles the odd carton of cigarettes. He has multiple affairs but is sentimentally committed to a sickly child and its mother whose husband is overseas.
Michele is the youngest and has previously worked on a fishing boat. He’s the one tasked with managing Alice’s daily captive life. He goes about this like a gentleman, looking away when she’s taking a shit, but then also has to wipe her ass with newspaper bits as her hands are always bound. He’s noobish to the whole crime thing and early on doesn’t even consider copping a feel, despite having a pretty blonde chained in a dirty room. At most, all he can think of is stealing a few notes from her purse and her cigarettes and lighter, before indulging in the quiet pleasures of being able to rifle through someone else’s stuff unhurriedly.
Even when Michele daydreams about Alice’s past life, it’s visions of privilege from her classy life, with him looking on from his small boat, or one where he’s kneeling in front of her as Mother Mary. But in this vision, her tits are exposed and this appears to embolden him with a sudden realization that in the other room is a captive woman and no class differences can change this reality or the power he wields. But Alice isn’t some bendover either and is quite aware of the power of her feminine charms on the dumb captor.
Despite modern releases, the DVD turned out to be the most complete. So that’s the one here.
So one of the kidnappers has to wipe her ass after she takes a shit because she’s handcuffed. He uses newspaper to wipe her ass and then flushes it down the toilet. Can you say clogged pipes? Anywho, it’s worth watching even though there are long stretches of boredom contained within. Once the guy on the boat gets captured by the po po you just knew he was going to rat out his cohorts. Someone down below said the ending was dumb but I really liked the ending. Not sure who punched the blind man’s ticket but it sure was amusing. Best scene is when gorgeous Alice (Rena Niehaus) is taking a bath. 3 and a half stars.

Quello che avrebbe dovuto essere un rapimento a scopo di estorsione si trasforma in un nulla di fatto e nel caso del più sempliciotto in tragedia. Reasonably entertaining film but nothing much happens. She does not even get fondled until the 50 minute mark. The crims are all such fuckers to each other that I am amazed how well the kidnapping was planned. As for the blind bloke not sure where the story was going with him. It does feel like there is a political message in the film that I just did not understand.
