Plot (Spoilers):
Wes Craven’s debut in 1972 is one of the most notorious among effed up movies, and while it may pale in comparison to many of the the modern movies on this site, its place in history is unquestioned. For a more brutal unofficial modern version, have a look at Chaos.

Two girls, Mari and Phyllis, are headed into the city for a rock concert. Mari has just turned 17, is doted on by her parents and also much sought after by the boys. Phyllis, her new friend, comes from a different social background and is more familiar with the seedier parts of society, which Mari finds attractive as a welcome change from the protected world she lives in.

While looking to score some grass, the pair unwittingly bump into a group of escapees that includes Krug a rapist-murderer, Weasel a sex pervert, Sadie a psychopathic female accomplice and Junior, the junkie son of Krug.

The girls are taken captive and led into the woods where they’re abused and tormented, ironically, very close to Mari’s place, which in turn leads to more complex scenarios.

I saw this at the drive in when it first came out. I’ve seen it a few times. Not something I would want to see again.

What the hell was that? A gory comedy? I’ve heard about this movie before that it supposed to be disturbing……but I found it cheap and amateurish.

Nothing beats the original, the 2009 remake was ok but did not have the grittiness and atmosphere of this one. David Hess fits perfectly into this role, he is made for it and plays the nastiness for all its worth. A hard to find film in uncut form, EUM guys have done it again, the kings of preserving extreme cinema, I salute you.

David Hess (as a regnant cult horror actor) nauseates my anima. The soundtrack was borderline saturnalia, composed with bacchanal and inveigle elements. Nonetheless, the original is always the most excoriate.

this was pretty entertaining, arguably more so than i spit on your grave due to a lot of that movie being overly dull, though i personally did not find this movie very disturbing and i spit on your grave definitely hits harder in that regard. the main villain in this film is the most disturbing aspect of it and i prefer this set of antagonists to those in i spit on your grave, although i prefer the protagonist of that movie to Mari. considering the low budget of both movies, this one certainly pulls off a more compelling story, though both have jarring, offputting endings- when the credits to this film start it feels comical and i spit on your grave’s ending is very sudden, like, “wait, was that it? okay then”
