Plot – Spoilers:
Rise & Fall Of An American Scumbag features a number of colorful characters. There’s Billy who’s looking to get out of town with his girlfriend after killing his Dad and collecting the insurance. He’s so excited at the prospect of a new life that he pays a visit to his mother’s grave and takes a shit on it. Then there’s Johnny who takes hitjobs for a drug dealer when he’s not casually stomping on dead animals or burning statues of baby Jesus. There are a few others too. All of them socialize with each other with differing consequences for everyone.

Great little short film and straight to the point too, I’m tired of all those experimental films with 1/4 of development and 3/4 filler bullshit, like that film ‘gummo’ what the fuck was that? I’m still pissed I watched that shit. But I digress, I recommend this film, also nice powerviolence soundtrack.
What an quirky, wonderfully idiosyncratic film. The parsimonious presence of the project only adds to it’s charm. And I have a feeling that those involved had just a good of a time making it as I had watching it. I’m looking forward to seeing more of Dakota Bailey’s work…
