Plot – Spoilers:

7 days is a wonderfully exhausting experience in revenge and its effects on the perpetrator and throws up confusing questions about morals and principles.
Yesterday I rewatched this after about 12 years. Holy fuck is this movie POWERFUL. Me and my bf usually make a lot of jokes when we watch movies, but for this one we were silent most of the runtime. It is BLEAK from the very first frame. It’s a great study of the human decline – we see it both in Bruno and in Anthony. Also did you guys notice that Bruno doesn’t speak a word to Anthony? I think he doesn’t consider him human.
The bathtub scene and the wound that keeps bleeding symbolizes that no matter what Bruno does, he can’t bring the daughter back to life (in my interpretation). This movie left me feeling numb and empty like nothing else. It makes stuff like “Se7en” look like a kid’s show.

Good movie but realistically if someone raped and murdered my 8 yr old kid and i had 7 days with them I’d do everything to that sicko I could think up, cutting, burning, scoulding his bits with boiling water, breaking bones, be lucky if he lasted 1 day without him dying and that would be trying to hold back, I wouldn’t be calling anyone or watching TV, my time would be spent torturing him!
I doubt most people would last a day in a room with someone who raped and murdered their kid without killing them!
