Plot – Spoilers:
17-year-old Maria lives in a small Colombian town where the only respectable job for women is at a flower farm. She’s bored of her job and her boyfriend who seems content to live and die where he grew up. At home, her sister is a single mom obsessed with the health of her baby, and who hardly contributes to the family income, yet keeps the pressure on Maria to work a job she despises as it’s vital for funding the baby’s needs.
But things are coming to a head. Maria’s just realized she’s pregnant. She feels her boyfriend is a loser and not a worthy dad to her baby. She’s also just quit her job. Early on in the film, we see Maria climbing a roof while her boyfriend remains unwilling to join her. This sets up her nature as someone willing to take chances to move higher up.
Soon the reckoning moment arrives in the form of Franklin on his big bike, which is in stark contrast to her boyfriend’s cycle. Franklin is familiar with Bogota and its opportunities and offers her a well-paying job as a drug mule. Maria accepts.
A story well told and left it open to a sequel perhaps.
So you want to be a drug mule and make big money? Well, it’s not going to be easy. Scary stuff that, I’m sure, happens all the time. Good film. I liked it very much. Maria (Catalina Sandino Moreno) was excellent. 4 and a half stars teetering on 5.

it’s about 4.5/10 normally but Maria is such a lovely woman , she makes it 7.0 and cause i got nothing left watch it was perfect to kill 1.5 hour of my life

Already saw this movie, don’t think it’s fucked up enough to warrant a place on this site, but it’s an incredible film regardless and you all should watch it!
o/t It looks like Madge is on her last few days/hours. I expect many on here if not all could not care less but for me once she has gone the Monarchy of the UK will have lost any value.
She did have a life of privalidge but unlike the modern movie stars, pundits, vloggers, tik-tok masturbaters, sport-pedos she had a sense of duty and got up everyday and worked hard at her job and did more for England than any elected trougher.
So for me she will be very much missed and unreplaceable. Although 96 is a good innning.
