A chronicle of the 1934 Nuremberg rally that was initially admired for its breakthrough cinematic techniques and later for its role in providing a template for political propaganda – the teeming crowds, shots of women and children unable to control their glee at the sight of their leader. Women lick their lips, men look inspired by the vision, children clamber for a better viewing spot, proud displays of military might and precision, wide beaming smiles from all except Hitler who on occasion seems pensive, perhaps even emotional watching the proceedings. It all began here.
This particular rally featured here came soon after a purge of the Nazi leadership and so there is a strong declaration of loyalty to the Führer from key figures in the Nazi system. There’s the promise of a golden era while galvanizing people to work hard and build a country for the German people. It’s evident there’s no place for the lazy here – this through impressive displays of discipline and regimenting. There’s even a sort of regiment of farmers and workers, uniformed like soldiers but armed with spades, giving the labor class a perceived sense of dignity by suggesting that toiling in the dirt and sun is akin to fighting to protect your land. You also get to see the original Stormtroopers. And of course speeches from the top Nazis.
A beautifully restored and preserved important historical document. It’s a little dry and not very “entertaining” to watch but it does show the impact the strict disciplinarian Hitler had on Germans and his ability to get people to conform to certain behaviors and manners of dress. At the time of the making of this film his philosophies were accepted, not only in Germany, but worldwide and he had loyal supporters all over the globe, including Sheldon Bush, the patriarch of the RINO Bush family dynasty in America. RINO Sheldon Bush was a stanch supporter of the 3rd Reich before, during and after WW2. As a beautifully restored historical document it is a 5 star film. Is it an awesome watch? Not really.

At least it´s a billion times better than the Germany of today or Europe in general. This film should endure, and stand, and be known. This was shown to all of Germany as an example of what should be, what should endure, and what should continue. The fact that the country that is Germany now is so very different should throw this film into stark relief, for no matter what was, all things pass, all things end. People believed this, held to it, and made it their children’s belief. The toxic horrors that grew from these people’s actions should never be forgotten…and so this film must stand and never be misunderstood. It should not be feared, and neither should it be buried and destroyed. This was what was wanted. If this attitude, this single minded fury, rises again, or indeed HAS RISEN AGAIN…this film must be where we look to recognize the core of it. Know this film…and watch for this when it arises again.

I haven’t watched this film yet but I’m giving it 5 stars for Hitler, who did nothing wrong except wait too long to bomb the British and the Ruskies.
