Another from John Waters lampooning the fucked up American family and their facade of functionality by having regular meals together.
The Sutphins with their manicured lawns are the perfect middle-class family with Dad a successful dentist, Mom an attractive genial lady whom the garbagemen dote on, and kids evenly distributed among genders with relatively normal interests and issues.
But Mom is ill and degenerating by the hour. What begins as vulgar prank calls to a divorced neighbor lady who stole her parking slot, soon turns into killing anyone who pisses her off.

After the uproar about “Sleepers” and “Angel Heart” being TOO MAINSTREAM for some of the viewers on EUM I decided to watch “Serial Mom” after reading the almost unanimous praise for it in the comments below and seeing that it has been on EUM since July 2020. It amazes me that some people would bitch about “Sleepers” but say nothing about “Serial Mom,” the most mainstream Hollywood bullshit movie I have ever seen.
There is nothing worse than a comedy that isn’t funny. The “Mom’s a serial killer” joke gets old real fast. They threw in a car chase and L7 playing at a night club to pad out the 90 minutes they needed to fulfill their contract. I want to make sure everyone understands me. THIS MOVIE FUCKING SUCKS. IT IS ONE OF THE WORST I HAVE SEEN ON THIS WEBSITE. 1 STAR AND THAT IS FUCKING GENEROUS. Have I made myself clear?

Saw this when it came out, thought it was going to be good, but it wasn’t! NOTHING Waters ever did was any good! Terrible cast, terrible film! I can see why Waters father despised and disowned him!

i don’t know if this counts as fucked up minus the gore, which is sparse – though it does its job and doesn’t feel as fake as other film effects ive seen in some movies – but it was hilarious. i had to kinda suspend my disbelief at how nobody saw the obvious fingerprints? are the detectives just retarded? maybe. also the “scariest” part was sam waterston and kathleen turner’s laughable sex scene.
