Plot – Spoilers:
The filthiest person alive Divine, is hiding away in a trailer to avoid the pitfalls that come with being the filthiest person alive. She lives with her mother Edie who sits in a baby cot all day fetishing on eggs. Divine has a companion Cotton and an overgrown son Channing who’s into weird sex to impress the kinky Cotton.
Divine’s notoriety is resented by the Marble couple who most famously rear babies in their cellar. The Marbles think Divine’s fame is undeserved and are in a constant effort to wrest the ‘most filthiest’ title away from her.
Pink Flamingos’ notoriety stems from the bizarre fetishes some characters engage in, such as licking furniture and rooms as part of casting a spell. But the notoriety mostly comes from its bowel-grinding final scene. The Cut featured here includes deleted scenes (presented by John Waters at the end of the film) – these scenes are not particularly effed up, rather they were cut out during the editing process.
This one and A Clockwork Orange are my top favorite movies from the 1970’s!
-50:00
great kids movie my 9 year old son really enjoyed it
Just Devine!
Female Trouble is my favorite John Waters movie, but this is undeniably the greatest film ever made.
This film is hilarious and so stupid I wonder how the actors kept a straight face without bursting out laughing. Was banned in many countries and still banned in Australia today. I just wonder why, seeing as it was so comical, Australian censors have no sense of humour. To my knowledge, John Waters also made other films in the same style such as ” Female Trouble ” and ” Desperate Living ” both featuring Divine but not sure of their availability. Btw, Cotton was hot! Cheers!
KILL EVERYONE NOW – CONDONE FIRST DEGREE MURDER – ADVOCATE CANNIBALISM – EAT SHIT!
It’s not so much that you’re able to say that you enjoyed it. It’s just that you can say you saw it.
gotta love how seemingly the only thing that disgusts raymond is trans people … wack standards he got there (haven’t finished the movie so if he’s disgusted by anything else post the 1:03:00 mark I’m not there yet)
Its more filthy then gory however I will say as a disturbing movie lover there were some scenes I couldnt get through like the one where cookie is raped (I have no idea how they pulled that off without her getting hurt) and the scene where divine gives a blowjob. Though i will say it was effed up and a great film
epitome of EUM and a perfect pick for pride month. cheers homos
this movie was progressive for it’s time and it was fun finding out more about the cast members after the watch, some of the cast has also been featured in another movie together with their director john waters titled “female trouble” which will hopefully make it onto EUM one day too
Disgusting and Disturbing
I love this movie I know some people don’t think it’s “extreme” enough but I think it’s funny and very entertaining.
no wonder it’s a cult classic amongst us queer elders 😛 loved watching this!
Nauseating and fucking hilarious. The uncomfortable fetish scenes only add to how fun this movie is.
Boring af
<3 this
Crackers is so hot I wanna blow him too :p
This film is just… marvelous.
It’s funny but still interesting.
I have never watched anything like this before, I loved it!
Exploitation films, grindhouse, blue comedy, and Japanese gore/pinku films are my literal favorites everrrrr, as well as any bizarre banned erotic horror/slasher films from USA and worldwide like Germany and France…and that one from Serbia… Seeing films like this that are so iconoclastic is great. It’s titillating….it’s not so in your face and senseless and horrifying like A Serbian Film. The most disturbing part of this film is that there’s a lot more like it in 70s USA. Which makes me wonder why there was a whole era of films like this? Even UK has ’em; such as the one I just downloaded: Smashing Bird I Used To Know (School for Unclaimed Girls) 1969. There’s 100s…maybe 1000s. The hippie era’s films and music were strange and symptomatic of all Hollyweird controversies. This makes it hard to believe that there was such a dark kinky side to the same industry that pumped out The Bee Gees, The Beatles, Jackson 5, Mamas and Papas during this era, wholesome things on the surface…there was a dark industry underneath that basked in quirky kink like this and sex crimes and drugs. So while I know these films are a comedic mask to a perverted dark industry where your favorite stars probably partook in stuff like this, dress up in drag and m*sturbate to, I do enjoy many parts of this. The scene from 6:00 to 8:00 was iconic. The dialogue was brow raising and hilarious. “You can eat s— for all I care, Miss… Read more »
This film will forever be a classic. One of the most important films in queer cinema. Obviously it isn’t gory or anything, but it’s surprising graphic for an American film (especially for that time). It still impresses me that Divine was able to eat real dog feces for this role. Talk about commitment!
Brilliantly revolting film from the King of Kitch! Loved it!
Pretty disappointed this wasn’t fucked up like everyone made it to be. Super bad acting. But it’s very different so I liked it a little and I definitely loved Devine.
THIS MOVIE IS SO ZANY !! >:^0
Not that is bad, I really liked it, really had some freaky/offbeat scenes (ex: the footlicking scene). This movie have alot of bizzaro scenes. But it’s still enjoyable, the plot is,,,, interresting, the characters are colorful and some of the music used is kinda of catchy.
Favorite moment had to be the wedding scene !!
Recommend (!!), except if you don’t like weird fetishy-scenes. >:^]
(I’m also real glad they had this movie here, thank you soooo much !!)
´Uma pena ñ ter legendas
