Grimm Love is another one on the Armin Meiwes cannibalism incident. Here we have a student Katie writing her thesis on the topic and who’s excessively, and somewhat annoyingly curious, to the point of wanting to breathe in the environment, where it all happened.
Nowhere as brutal as Cannibal, Grimm Love instead opts to examine the childhoods of the eaten and the eater and their brief relationship.
After reading the description and the comments you might think this movie is not worth watching but that is not the case at all. I thought this movie was fucking great!
It’s based on the Armin Meiwes – Bernd Brandes cannibalism incident in 2001 and it follows the events pretty closely. Katie is a rather irritating student that is obsessed with the case and goes to great lengths to discover the story behind the men in question. Oliver, Simon and Katie are all weird AF. Katie has those haunted eyes and she looks like a ghoul when she is staring at the computer with the blue light hitting her face. When Katie gets the video hand delivered to where she is staying I kept thinking about the creep that left it on the steps and wondered what he was up to while she was watching the video. Simon is a homosexual and there are some weird love scenes with his boyfriend and an odd scene with a male prostitute. There are some spooky visual effects, such as the scene in the basement when Oliver is dreaming he is underwater, that really gave me the creeps. I’m giving this one 4 and a half stars. I recommend watching this film no matter what anyone else says.

wanted to give this movie a try, first 5 minutes are sleeper wish this woman would shut up, seriously. her corny ah dialogue and sub 3 eye area is giving me a headache given her other features really highlight her look but are ruined by her everything else, serioisly the more i look at her the more awful it gets i cant finish this shit giving up stay woke
Even though Armin Meiwes “cancelled” the movie because it is allegedly pretty accurate, and it really shows many sides to the whole incident, I think this movie fucking sucks. In the beginning the main story seems to be about this fucking cunt of a student, who definitely only got cast for her looks, writing about the incident and showing some understanding for the whole case, this story gets thrown out the window after the first 30 minutes and only serves as a frame for the Meiwes story.
I dunno, the movie is kinda competent in telling the events that seemingly lead up to the point of the dick-cutting, but I honestly enjoy Cannibal by Marian Dora 100times more.
Like, she fucking cries at the end (watching the tape from Meiwe’s act) and the movie ends.
