Burning Bed (1984)

Option 1Can't Watch?

Wait 30secs. Movie still not playing? Click the "Can't Watch?" tab.

If the movie didn't load, it means you are being blocked by a security service we use. This can happen for a number of reasons.

Click this first

A new tab will open and a basic security check like a captcha will be performed. After completing the check, close that page and return here.

Refresh this page. Wait 30 secs. The movie should load and you can just hit play.

If it still doesn't play, Click here to watch the movie

The movie should now start playing in a new tab of your browser or begin downloading to your device. This option has the minor disadvantage that English-language movies with optional subtitles in the movie player will not include these subs with this method.

The new system here has been designed keeping in mind even people with low internet speeds sub-8mbps. Even if you have a really bad connection, you should still be able to watch the movie without any issues if you:
Start the movie. Pause it. Wait for 30-45 seconds. Start playing again.

This 'Can't Watch' method really only works if it's your specific device/browser that's interfering with the player. There is no real advantage of speed here. Or if there is a temp network glitch or read lag from the server disk.

If you're still having problems, try using 'Incognito mode' in your browser. On iPhones, especially older ones, use Chrome instead of Safari. Might help.

IMPORTANT: Please make sure that the newly opened tab is not an ad popup asking you to download some software or whatever. Close any such popups and don't download any software - those are ads. Nothing is needed to be done by you other than to complete the security check which is often automated.

Francine who’s only sixteen has ambitions of college and the usual get out of this town, but they dissipate under the pressure of Mickey’s incessant proposals. A few years into marriage later, Mickey has no stable job, is jealous and worried about Francine losing interest in him, and follows a regular pattern of behaviour – flareup, violence, cooldown, apology, self-loathing. This was a very controversial movie at the time but not because of the subject matter. It was controversial because Farrah Fawcett was a beloved superstar and audiences couldn’t bear to watch her getting beat up. It’s still hard to watch. Paul Le Mat, who portrayed Francine’s husband “Mickey Hughes,” was the most hated man in America after this was broadcast on TV. Le Mat took on the role of a tortured POW in the film “The Hanoi Hilton” (1987) (a great film) to try to soften his image. It’s reminiscent of when Johnathon Schaech was mean to Liv Tyler in “That Thing You Do!” (1996) (a GREAT film). Schaech was attacked numerous times with fans screaming “How could you do that to Liv Tyler?”

The powers that be in Hollywood tried to cash in on the success of “The Burning Bed” and rushed out the dreadful film “Extremities” (1986), which had a lousy script, terrible acting, a laughable musical score and even amateur make up work.

Anywho, “The Burning Bed” is a fantastic film. 5 stars.
