A mother and daughter are waylaid by something or someone on a wooded road in Bucharest.
As our luck would have it, right next-door to them are a couple who’ve recently moved into a large, old house. Clementine teaches French at a school while Lucas is a writer when he isn’t playing video games.
That night, their horror begins.
Them has all the tropes that you’d have seen in plenty of horror movies but still manages to stand out. The sounds and music used here will most likely fill you with dread. Unless you’re planning your own personal home invasion. In which case, it might be an enjoyable ride.
Oh my god this is fucking ass! We get to know absolutely NOTHING about the main character, the sound effects are fucking shit, and it feels like they stole the plot from The Strangers and said “why not make it an edgy teenager flick instead?” They thought they did well with this movie. You can truly tell the movie makers were blushing and giggling after making this shit show. The teenage daughter is fucking annoying as shit by the way, wow. The constant dark lighting is also annoying, and in general the lighting and colouring just sucks ass. I was looking for movies like Eden Lake… and got recommended THIS FUCKING SHIT! Fuck whoever recommended this. Eden lake is superior to this cocksucking shitster of a movie!
The film claims to be based on real events but it is really based on an urban legend that is most likely fabricated. True or not, it’s an annoying movie with dumb victims and cliched horror gimmicks. It also suffers from the dreaded “dim lighting syndrome,” which many movies in this genre suffer from. I’m going to go straight up the middle with this one and give it just a cunt hair over 2 and a half stars and let me tell you why. If it were true I would say it’s a pretty good film but I have a strong feeling the story is a crock of shit.

What do You do in that situation? Get some weapons ofcourse. Knifes, blunt objects, frying pan even a pensil is better than nothing. Then barricade youself…and be ready to use weapons You have, to kill if needed. If You have a firearm, even better.

Terrific! Within 5 minutes of the film starting I was hooked, not through having a later piece of the action duplicated and tagged onto the beginning of the film, like many horror films have, but with a well thought out mysterious beginning. Excellent believable horror.
there were some loud echoe-y noises. And it was pretty dark at night. Also a girl screamed. The guy said “stay here” to her at least 5 times. Terrifying

An interesting film that changes direction from the house invasion theme in the second half. Consequently, (imo) both themes were never explored in enough detail. While the ‘second theme’ was done far better (imo) in ‘Eden Lake’ (also on EUM). Still its an interesting film that could have been much better if it provided more depth by just focusing on just one theme. 3/5 iron pokers

And as far as the movie goes… I really enjoyed it. Very suspenseful. Well acted, filmed and written. BUT…. it’s just another day in NYC, with plants.
Bone-chilling, unnerving, and very creepy. A genuinely tensed thriller with a very eerie athmosphere. One of the best home invasion movie I’ve seen so far. I love it EUM! Definitely a must watch.
