Plot – Spoilers:
Angel is feeling low after her father introduces her to his new girlfriend. Wanting to be away from them, and with the summer holidays on, she asks her best friends to join her on a trip to the house where her deceased mother grew up and where her aunt still lives. But her aunt is not human, and the house feasts on young girls.
This is an intentionally bad movie by the director to keep the mood amateurish and childish. Probably because it was based off his daughter’s stories who is also credited as writer. The trashy effects create memorable moments, like a severed head biting the ass of one of the girls, or a kungfu girl fighting a house that’s trying to eat her.
my kind of children’s film – picked up the Criterion version on sale and may never watch again, but I had fun and like knowing it’s always on hand…just in case
wtf is this i like it
Kkkkkk
Too much of overbearing background music, very headache-inducing, not for me.
I came back to give it another watch with an open mind as I gave up on it too soon yesterday…and it’s not bad, the film is a psychedelic trip…crazy, fun & impressive visual effects for that time period…Btw, there’s a must watch Japanese film made in the 60s called the Face of Another.
So surreal
While I understand the absurdity was the point… I still felt like I lost my time watching this. I did not like it.
Somebody has to start making hentai remake of this brilliant movie.
WHERE DID U GET THIS HQ HIGH QUALITY????
PLEASE TELL ME
THANKS
Just as insane as I expected.
That was some corny shit. Could have used some samuri sword fights or somthing like that…maybe more T&A. Anything would help. I’ve seen a lot of Japanese movies from this same date, some are good some aren’t. This one was just absurd.
Look into the history of the director and the japanese scene around this time. It goes into it a bit more. If im not mistaken, this movie is actually part of the criterion collection (i could be wrong and dont care to confirm tbh). But yes the absurdity was the point.
you are correct, this film is in the criterion collection
A hyper-kinetic splash of silliness and, pure terror.
Super strango
