Verdwijnen is about a broken mother-daughter relationship that appears impossible to fix. A Dutch photographer Roos visits her pianist mother living in Norway. Roos has a little brother (supposed to be her half-brother) who also lives there and spends his days immersed in the sounds that can be produced around ice and stalactites. The conversations between Roos and her mother are also appropriately icy and always on edge. The last time Roos had visited, she’d left in a huff without a goodbye to her brother, and this seems likely to happen again this time.
But something’s different now. Roos is dying.
Everyone will die at some point. But it’s amazing how just the certainty of impending death can dissolve egos and fix relationships. Is the fix real? Or is it just pity.
Verdwijnen (Disappearance) could fit in here as a depressing mother-daughter relationship. But it’s more on here for a couple of controversial scenes involving topless nudity of an older woman with a younger boy.

Nice movie, weird scenes, a movie you have to watch and feel, so I liked it.
Beautiful boy I must admit, wow! Eyecandy only, will never touch, am not that kind of pedo. Kids are sacred!
Odd film. A couple of weird nude scenes. Strange ending. I liked it.
