This movie is a masterpiece, my favorite Safdie film. This movie felt so raw and authentic, seeing necro was funny as fuck as well. 10/10 makes want skag again.
I think the Safdie Brothers just wanted to do heroin one time and were like “mine as well make a movie out of it.”
So in the end she just return to the same old spots, hanging around with the same old “friends”, the junkies because Ilya got killed (real Ilya died from drug overdose but in this movie we see him getting killed by that accidental fire into this abandoned basement) and apparently she was so in love with him that since her dream of escaping these streets and this life along with her boyfriend a

I stumbled upon this movie a while back after I watched a movie with Robin Williams called “Boulevard” (2014) that has some of the same actors in it and was made the same year. “Boulevard” is effed up and would fit on EUM perfectly. As I was watching “Heaven Knows What” this time I had the nagging feeling I had seen this before because I remembered Harley saying Ilya’s name a million times. It’s ok that I watched this again because I like this movie. It’s that same old “The Panic In Needle Park” (1971) sad story but the story never gets old. 4 stars.
