A junkie love story in NYC based on some time in the life of lead actress, Arielle Holmes, who wrote the unpublished memoir at the behest of the filmmakers. Depending on who’s watching this, it’s either a waste of time, a reason to hate trash even more, or to feel some empathy or maybe nostalgia. Because it’s just a few days in the lives of people looking to kick time and life, a few of whom might even be in love with each other.

I haven’t seen this in so long. It’s not a great movie, but it was a new drug movie to me. Which I have seeked out in the past. Other than that, Ilya looks so similar to my very good friend that drove a 4 hour round trip to keep me from being homeless. R.I.P. Matt B.

I stumbled upon this movie a while back after I watched a movie with Robin Williams called “Boulevard” (2014) that has some of the same actors in it and was made the same year. “Boulevard” is effed up and would fit on EUM perfectly. As I was watching “Heaven Knows What” this time I had the nagging feeling I had seen this before because I remembered Harley saying Ilya’s name a million times. It’s ok that I watched this again because I like this movie. It’s that same old “The Panic In Needle Park” (1971) sad story but the story never gets old. 4 stars.
