Mickey and Mallory hook up after Mickey saves her from her leery dad and they go on a killing spree. They aren’t aiming to live long – max satisfaction from killing randoms on a whim for as long as the spree lasts is all they’re aiming for. But with time, their glamorization by the media and a growing cult of fans gives Mickey grander ambitions to live and continue the performance. In this, the duo are aided by an incompetent police force and a TV show host who’d love to livestream their acts – Natural Born Killers is extreme satire and so all of this is wildly exaggerated.
The killers here display woke kindness, like when they regret killing an Indian man and end up always sparing kids, but the lead detective is shown to be an asshole who enjoys strangling hookers in seedy hotel rooms. Mallory proudly raises her arms to flaunt her underarm hair. It’s one of those movies that you’d enjoy or hate depending on the phase you’re in. For example, NBK was the first DVD I ever bought and initially found the style cringe and didn’t like it, but later changed my view while revisiting it a few years later.
This is the Director’s Cut version of the movie that gained even more post-release notoriety after many killers including school shooters were alleged to be fans of the movie.

Being the best romance movie, aside, the whole thing is so well acted and the cinematography is NUTS. I have to see what else Oliver Stone made because this was one of the most enjoyable watching experiences I’ve had. Glad I’m watching it for the first time at 40, because this movie wouldve molded my brain into something even worse if I watched it when it came out.

I heard about this movie since a was a teenager. Now I can say that it is worth watching. i would have seen it with different eyes when i was young and more impressable but I still liked it. some of the dialogue was interesting , like when the TV channel reporter said , that now I m living that I killed somebody , or the opening scene with the country hillbillies . Again the finale was pure Hollywood , that these 2 were killers , but were still in love after having 3-4 children …anyway… 4*

I did not rate this film when it first came out so I thought I should at least re-watch it. My opinion has not changed as I still find it pretentious and indulgent. Maybe I don`t get the satire.
