Plot – Spoilers:
Out in the Canadian bush, Vixen lives with her pilot husband who’s often away on private charters, some of whom come over to stay at the couple’s quaint resort. The husband is hopelessly enamored by Vixen, but that’s the case with any man who ever meets her. Vixen sluts around, yet finds the fine line to not be treated like a slut. She’ll fuck anyone, but always on her terms. She’s got one exception to this rule though – her brother’s black friend to whom she is racially abusive.
Vixen is transgressive cinema from one of its American masters, Russ Meyer.
Good old seventies! Nice scenery at the Canadian mountains and lakes, the film must have been a shock for its time! At the end all differences are set aside and the commie goes to jail! 3*
I was thinking about which Russ Meyer film I would like on here and even though its quite mainstream I think his version of Fanny Hill is nice and saucy. Fanny Hill the book was written 100s of years ago but still remains a fucked story to this day.
They used to play this movie 3 times a night for months when cable TV first came out on a channel called (I think) “Starcase.” They also use to play “Cruising” (1980) directed by William Friedkin 5 times a day for months. “Vixen” is a soft core porn/comedy with some racism thrown in. I love the “Herb Albert and the Tijuana Brass” type musical soundtrack. Vixen even looks like the girl on the Herb Albert and the Tijuana Brass album called “Whipped Cream & Other Delights.” 3 stars.
Dunno about anyone else, but I love taking trips into the bush.

Having this movie here is more of an homage than an effedup contribution, I guess. It was more than effedup in its time, for sure.
However, today it’s more of a testimony of the spirit of a time in Western movie making. Because, if not a few tits and ass, there’s nothing to be outraged about in this movie today.
But I guess it’s thanks to this movie that we have films like Fantom Kiler 4 nowadays, where there are tits, ass, pussy, and opened and unshaved and filled with stuff pussies in supposedly classic movies.
So even if this movie is a total bore today, let’s not throw it under the bus. Ow, I guess I need to add that I didn’t bother at all to listen to anything they said in the movie. So if the story’s interesting, I apologize.
(Later : there seems to be a clear issue with the black guy. It looks like the girls are sleeping with anybody except him. There might be a real issue with racism in the movie.)
If our Lordship may get the movie Up, that would be another homage, but the kind where the movie’s power is still intact.

Man, I don’t mean to be complaining for the pleasure of it, but didn’t the subtitles use to be larger than that? I hate when they’re big because they can be blocking the view during nude scenes, but they look fairly smaller than they used to, don’t they?…
Russ Meyer is a totally under-appreciated artist!

Good movie. It has me thinking of the times where I crossdress and play vixen with some of my little boys just to spice up the mood. 10/10.
