8-year-old Leslie walking to school is smooth-talked into a life of captivity and prostitution.
Gardens of the Night doesn’t go easy on its theme and without being too explicit is easily one of the more effed up films on here. It does this by detailing the elaborate extents to which some captors will go to build a trustworthy and caring fatherfigure and the lifelong damage done to their victims’ selfworth while also ingraining in them the desire to groom others.
Droopy and sad tale about a little girl who gets kidnapped by chicken hawks and they manage to fuck up her entire life. It’s slow in spots and a little boring at times but John Malkovich gives another interesting performance. 3 stars.

This is a proper film, well acted and with good photography, though Gillian Jacobs looks too much like a model to be a believable character. Most reviews seem to remark on how impossible to watch it is, personally I’m not such a pussy and I’ve found it quite entertaining.

Worth noting that the Christopher Reeve TV Movie Bump in the Night 1991 is just as creepy and has a far superior ending. I checked and it is available online.
The beggining 20 minutes is nicely sinister but after that its just a movie of the week. Watchable but predictable.

What is next a couple of movies starring the feldman? On how the goonies were effed up in their own type of way because feldman tried to lure the cleaning lady in the cellar to let her stay there without food and water for whole two weeks. Or the fact they got greedy at the end and did not decide to share the insane fortune they found with people outside their small community. hell, what about the movie blown how disturbing it is and touches you in profound ways making you question the reality of friendships, because C.haim gets fucked over by his best friend who’s like a brother to him? that movie has a terrible ending and deserves a spot on here… . Or perhaps even better, low and behold. Surprise… post the lost boys!! that movie surely is effed up. Its about a bunch of people who basically died and came back as monster vampires.
You could tie a couple of interviews and perhaps documentaries of the feldman as well while you post these movies that’ll stain your reality and leave a bad taste to the tune of also shitting bricks faster than you can say hello.
