Plot – Spoilers:
In an upscale Mexican suburb, Fabiola and Roy have conflicting views on the new couple next door, Anahi-Chava. The conflict isn’t so much over their neighbours’ tofu-eating habits or that they seem like fierce animal-rights activists. It’s mostly about the big dog that their young daughter fears. The damn dog is never on a leash either.
Fabiola and Roy’s relationship is already straining and something simple like eating out is a big deal that Roy can never seem to find time for. He has time though for a game of basketball with Chava and is fine with the dog too. This intensifies Fabiola’s resentment and things come to a head when the dog attacks the little girl and Anahi-Chava don’t seem particularly apologetic. Roy contacts his brother who’s mixed up with shady stuff and the dog is legally but brutally put down.
Anahi-Chava make a few revenge moves like slashing tires and destroying equipment but eventually decide to move. The neighborhood’s finally calm, the events have brought Fabiola and Roy closer together and that fucking restaurant meal is also round the corner.
But then the night of terror begins as Anahi-Chava return, wearing masks and looking for blood. And like usually happens in such movies, the people involved say and do unrealistic shit that often can’t even be ascribed to the pressure of terror. Decent violence though.
