Plot – Spoilers:
Miyako applies for a job as a maid and receives a positive response from her prospective employers in a neat sealed envelope. It gets even more impressive when her employers measure her body parts precisely before hiring her. Seems like they’re very specific about choosing the best! Things seem perfect when she’s then assigned a mentor, Mai-chan, who seems really nice. Miyako is eager to learn and a bit slow in her movements which makes Mai-chan, who’s very patient, the perfect teacher.
Things then get a little bizarre when Miyako is exposed to the humiliation and torture around the house, for the entertainment of the wheelchair-bound master of the place. Also, the specifics are really specific – you can have your finger hacked off for spilling your milk, but you must cover your underwear because the master doesn’t like indecency.
But it’s when Miyako watches her employer poke Mai-chan’s eye out with a fork and eat it, that she really springs to life, experiencing a surge of sexual energy. What’s even better, Mai-chan has the unique gift where her body is able to heal itself. So all good.
Mai-chan’s Daily Life (adapted from a manga) raises some fundamental questions. Would the feeling of not wanting to physically harm someone vanish if you knew they were capable of regenerating the body parts you just ravaged. What is physical pain. How much of it is psychological. Would a person suffer less if they knew they were sure to recover?
I read the manga when I found out about this work, then I found out about the movie, honestly… nothing to do with one work with the other, the manga is much cruder and invokes emotions against the clients and those who mistreat Mai -chan, in the movie…it’s totally meh
as a person whos read the manga prior i was expecting the whole movie to be like the end scene tbh…. but i did get a laugh bc that acting is something else lmaooo

not to be THAT person but… read the manga! it’s seriously 10x times better. the movie is not bad, but the director is awful. those camera turns, b&w out of nowhere and everything just make it tedious.
anyways, even if you don’t liked it, at least try a bit of the manga!

pésima película, podrían haberlo hecho mucho mejor hasta con poco presupuesto, podrían haber metido personajes del manga original, como el hermano, el interés amoroso, o la amiga, pero en su lugar metieron a una random que no aporta nada y no más está ahí para grabar escenas lésbicas con gore. podrían haber creado una historia de cero con el mismo concepto en vez de agarrar el manga de uziga. no se la recomiendo ni al pajero más fan del gore porque hay cosas mejores, ni a un fan del manga o el autor porque no tiene nada que ver

Typical Jap torture porn film but strangely erotic too. It didnt gross me out, after watching the ” Gusomilk ” series which has no gore but heaps of shit and vomit, I am more or less desensitized to almost anything. But in saying so, Japs are fucked up and into some weird shit, but will not show any genitals. Go figure.
I did not like this movie, the whole movie felt like a high quality student movie. The thing I missed the most in this movie is an answer to why? But hey if you like gore,cannibalism and Japanese movies maby you will like personaly I don’t 2/10.
The moment I heard Mai-chan’s Daily Life had a live-action movie I HAD to see it! Not because I loved the manga, but what a random thing to turn into a movie. That being said I very much enjoyed myself. SO much ham, the bad editing and acting made it hilarious! Of course, you can’t expect great quality out of a ero guro manga adaption, I imagine the budget for this was low. That being said I’m surprised with how tame it is gore wise, the manga was mega fucked up, and I admit to have seen far more disturbing films. Maybe it just didn’t seem that messed up due to the edits, and how fake the gore looked. (Again, most likely low-budget, wasn’t expecting a masterpiece.)
My curiosity has been satisfied for now, but I’ll probably come back to watch this from time to time when I’m in the mood for some softcore hammy gore porn.

Really unthaithful to the source material. The movie itself was ok, but i am extremely dissapointed by the complete removal of Kizuna (althought it was prob a good call) 🙁
Average day in japan
I guess this is the director’s first movie and I’d normally go easy on him but Mai-chan’s daily life is such a classic and this Willy Wonka looking mf (seriously what’s with that hair) took a massive turd all over the franchise. The movie is bad. Like ameteur student film kind of bad. I normally don’t mind bad sound effects all that much but these are BAD. Music is horrible. The editing is weird. The dialogues are horribly written. Costumes look so cheap. Acting is very sloppy. Miyako is doing her best but honestly Mai is a mess. I’ve seen better porn actresses than her. Also how can you be so bad at hanging laundry?? She dragged those poor white sheets all over the ground. Fucking dumbass. Miyako and Mai share a one brain cell and it’s being used to drink milk on the ground. Not a single thought between those eyes and I envy them. Honestly good for them. Also why did he decide to make Kaede a maid? I bet he couldn’t cope with a female being in an authority position so he had to add this weird dude to the story to be their master. Kaede is a queen and would never work under anyone. (Also me getting this worked up over a franchise I don’t even originally like say a lot about me to be honest.) I think if this were filmed slightly more like an art piece rather than a shitty gore porn, it wouldve added a lot more to the experience. the acting wasnt good enough to be disturbing, but they added so many try hard “artistic cuts” with the black and white and such that it felt like they were going for more than gore porn.

I fell out before 10min had passed, not a single character felt real, the editing was awful, you could feel that scenes were from different takes. I don’t think I got to really see much of the writing, but if the rest of the movie is this bad I’d much rather just read the script, which sais a lot about a movie like this.
I’m not trying to shit on the ppl behind this, for all I know they had a lot of vision and passion, but in this case the result jut doesn’t seem to hold up. Someone please let me know if the movie gets better, but if this is what you get the whole way through I’d rather pass.

I found the blurring of lines between erotiscsm and ultra violence to be a very interesting. Not surprising that the Japanese would skate this subject. That being said, I was relieved that the movie was only an hour long.

Oh wow, I read this manga and didn’t know it has a live-action..it doesn’t seem like it will be very faithful to the source…will watch one time though. 😉
The premise of the film is novel (its like a Japanese take on Prometheus) and it has cute Japanese girls in maid outfits. But the Director is f*ckin awful, from overly flipping between B&W to colour and camera angles, to crap lighting and choice of music and (for me) it just kept drawing me out of the film. With a different Director it could/may have been so much more imo. But it doesn’t overstay its welcome being just over an hour long. 1/5 eyeballs due to the cr*p Director.
