A journalist famed for her articles in a women’s magazine is doing a series on rape victims. She stalks and harasses the women to uncover the perverse details with little concern for them. But as she journeys further down this rabbit hole, she finds herself intrigued and turned on by their trauma. Maybe it’s the emptiness in her scavenger life, or that a buried kink got activated, but the deeper she goes, the more she lusts to be brutalized. She isn’t particularly imaginative and so copies bits from the victims’ stories to shape her own trauma.

A writer for a magazine makes up bullshit for a story that she fantasizes about in her own mind, just like news reporters do. The movie is just pure bullshit. You can try to say that there is some deep meaning behind it and you can try to say that Neil Armstrong walked on the moon. Any way you slice it, it is absolute bullshit. Worst movie in the “Angel Guts” series so far. 2 stars.

You see, these films are great… It makes one ponder many things about human existence, for sure, sticky themes, yet they are handled brilliantly, and the women are very beautiful. Art is supposed to talk about these kinds of elements in our lives, repressed desires, ignored feelings, and a whole array of interesting emotional dynamics between men and women. HOLLYWOOD COULD NEVER pull off movies like these.
Three films into this series and what I have learnt is that rape was an occupational hazard for Japanese school girls in the ’70s. The same plot element of rape is continued in this film. The only difference between the films being how it is conveyed, percieved etc. This film does add a horror element with the rape in the hospital. Not as good as AG 2 imo. 2.5/5 zippo lighters.

Anyways, I really liked this movie. I’m new to this series and I expected some good old dark humor and sex stuff just for shits and giggles as the quote on the artwork implied, but instead I got a really profound yet depressing story. 10/10 from me, came to quench my inner cynic and ended up just feeling for everyone in the story. It’s definitely not a story with a clear cut person to root for because everything sucks for everyone here. I love it in a weird twisted way.

Mehh – decent. I liked Angel Guts 1 better. I think Nami is a virgin TBH – she comes off as incredibly naive. Some of the scenes were pretty funny (junkyard & stage performance).
