Wait 30secs. Movie still not playing? Click the "Can't Watch?" tab.
Click this first
A new tab will open and a basic security check like a captcha will be performed. After completing the check, close that page and return here.
Refresh this page. Wait 30 secs. The movie should load and you can just hit play.
If it still doesn't play, Click here to watch the movie
The movie should now start playing in a new tab of your browser or begin downloading to your device. This option has the minor disadvantage that English-language movies with optional subtitles in the movie player will not include these subs with this method.
The new system here has been designed keeping in mind even people with low internet speeds sub-8mbps. Even if you have a really bad connection, you should still be able to watch the movie without any issues if you:
Start the movie. Pause it. Wait for 30-45 seconds. Start playing again.
This 'Can't Watch' method really only works if it's your specific device/browser that's interfering with the player. There is no real advantage of speed here. Or if there is a temp network glitch or read lag from the server disk.
If you're still having problems, try using 'Incognito mode' in your browser. On iPhones, especially older ones, use Chrome instead of Safari. Might help.
IMPORTANT: Please make sure that the newly opened tab is not an ad popup asking you to download some software or whatever. Close any such popups and don't download any software - those are ads. Nothing is needed to be done by you other than to complete the security check which is often automated.

Plot – Spoilers:
Shigeharu Aoyama (Ryo Ishibashi) is a widower who is getting old and feeling the effects of loneliness as his teenage son appears to be moving on with his life. He confides in his friend Yoshikawa (Jun Kunimura) who is well known in the film industry. Yoshikawa arranges a bizarre audition wherein young beautiful women are called up ostensibly for a movie part, but the actual purpose of the audition is to find Aoyama a life partner. Aoyama goes along with the plan and is soon smitten by a very graceful and submissive looking Asami Yamazaki (Eihi Shiina).
Yoshikawa is a bit suspicious of her because her references don’t appear to check out, but by now, Aoyama is too far gone in his love for the mysterious Asami. What he finds in Asami to his horrid surprise is a twisted maniacal psychopath who grew up experiencing brutality and sadism as a child and who has now morphed into a serial killer of men with an extremely sadistic penchant for torture that she has honed across her many killings.
Favorite scenes:
During the Auditions, when Aoyama first catches a glimpse of Asami, she has her back to him in a crowded room and yet soemthing about the scene conveys her poise and grace that has Aoyama absolutely smitten.
The pathetic man squirming around in the sack. He has lost all sense and dignity of a human being and has debased into an animal that only craves for survival and nourishment.
Obviously the torture scenes. They come as such a stark and shocking contrast to all the feminine grace and poise exhibited by Asami until then. Especially when she injects Aoyama with a drug that paralyzes him but leaves with the sensation of pain – brutal.

Great film. It gets super weird later on which is a good thing. 4 stars.
this is as good as gaspar noe’s stuff!!!!!!!!
Watched it years ago, just watched again for a second time. This movie is a bit of a mindfuck.
I love takashi miike for this incredible masterpiece it brings joy into my heart 10/10 one of my fav top movies
what movies would be similar to this ?
Ok, first of all, this is a great movie with a female antagonist, such as Fatal Attraction (1989) , Natural Born Killers (1994) , May (2002) , The Loved Ones (2009) , and I spit on your grave (2010).
I really loved the contradiction between a cute face and a sick mind! Especially in the needles scene where she puts them in his belly and eyes while saying “deeper deeper” (the Japanese sounds like saying “kitty kitty” to me LOL) while she smiles! So cute and yet so psycho, i just love this!
It’s one of those movies you will instantly love if you like romantic horror stories or movies with female psychopaths! 10/10
This and Vistor Q are the only movies by Takashi Miike I’ve found enjoyable so far.
Adolf Hitler elaborates that a leader shouldn’t replace a religion unless he has a better substitute.
There is no substitute for Christianity. The only alternatives presented over the past hundred years are Marxist/ Neo-Pagan religions which are unobjective in their views, doctrines and practices, allowing it to be easily molded by the Jews in media.
“Only fools and criminals would think of abolishing the existing religion”, Stay with Christ.
~ Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf, Ch 10
This is a rare gem. Very rarely do we get a movie that pushes the limits on gore, while also having something to say. The macabre feels essential, heightened by the soften music and stellar writing throughout the film. Like Happiness or mysterious skin. This is an amazing movie, while not as disturbing as I would have thought, it was very refreshing to have a narrative that had real writing behind it. With actors who pull it off and then some.
Had to watch after reading the book- I hate to say it but the film was underwhelming in comparison. I was expecting so much more, I knew there would obviously be differences between the two but the film feels a lot more confused. I think it would’ve made the world of difference to have included a good few more scenes from the book for the sake of cohesion and to make much more solid characters. There were many things that felt glossed over and didn’t make much sense as a result- a lot of scenes seem pointless because of this. The receptionist’s relationship with aoyama felt unnecessary and added nothing to the plot, and why was shiges gf in those hallucinatory sex scenes??? Unless you’ve read the book and know the full story I’d imagine it’s difficult to understand why things progress in the way they do and the motivations behind characters. Idk it felt rushed somehow, some pretty plot heavy scenes were left out that would’ve really helped tie the whole story together- without those scenes it leaves quite big gaps in plot and character development which I think are very necessary in telling this story the right way. Overall I’m glad I watched the film and it definitely had some good moments such as the audition process montage and some shots like in the hotel bed transitioning to aoyama waking up with asami gone were very nice and well done, but I personally think as a whole it… Read more »
