Burning Flowers (1985)

Option 1Can't Watch?
If the movie poster hasn't loaded, it means you are being blocked by a security service we use. This can happen for a number of reasons.

Click this first

A new tab will open and you'll be prompted to complete a basic security check like a captcha test.

After completing the above Click here to watch the movie

The movie should now start playing in a new tab of your browser or begin downloading to your device.

If you're still having problems, try using 'Incognito mode' in your browser. On iPhones, especially older ones, use Chrome instead of Safari. Might help.

IMPORTANT: Please make sure that the newly opened tab is not an ad popup asking you to download some software or whatever. Close any such popups and don't download any software - those are ads. Nothing is needed to be done by you other than to complete the security check. It's usually a captcha test or simply involves checking a box.

This is a workaround method but has the minor disadvantage that English-language movies with optional subtitles in the normal player will not include subs here.

Plot – Spoilers:
In mid-’60s Oslo, a schoolboy, Herman, has basic interests – getting a girlfriend and finding a way to buy alcohol from a store so he can be cool with the other gym-class boys.

The only son in a middle-class family, he runs errands for a local florist and one such delivery takes him to the home of a much older woman, Rosa, who was once a trapeze artiste abroad. Rosa intrigues Herman not just for her lazy dressing that casually often reveals the flesh he desires, but also because she lives alone with the curtains always drawn, never stepping out.

To Herman, Rosa isn’t just someone shutting out the world to hide the passage of time as it marks itself on her. Rather, he truly feels happy while around her as she talks of times gone by. And soon, he also finds his libido dwindling around his peer girlfriend, making him spend more time at the older woman’s apartment.

A relatively-unknown coming-of-age tale around a taboo relationship with a little twist at the end.

Ugh, this one has been sanitized even from Norwegian film history!

I was hoping for loads of nudity _ the beginning was encouraging. But there was none of it, if not of young boys, but thank God, i’m on the straight side of the line.
It was a bore, I’m afraid. There’s another Swedish movie about a love story between a teenager and an older woman here. I can’t remember its name. It takes place in a high school between a student and his teacher. The story’s more interesting and the nudity is there.
I only hate that the movie ends badly because the teenage guy is such a retard.
Concerning effedupmovies, I think our Lordship should have a look at Leo Carax’s work. I’m serious here. Leo Carax is probably the one who inspired Gaspard Noé.

Boring. If only that old hag wasn’t a woman and Herman was a few years younger, I definitely would’ve enjoyed this. 2/10.

Snooze fest about a teenager named Herman who falls in love with a lonely 50 something year old woman named Rosa. Later he discovers that she likes to have her bread buttered on both sides. Groovy soundtrack. I really liked some of the tunes. I’ll go straight up the middle with this one and give it just a cunt hair over 2 and a half stars.
