A Lifetime movie based on the Elizabeth Smart case involving the abduction of a 14-year-old girl by a man claiming to be a prophet. The girl was then held captive in the woods for 9 months by the man and his girlfriend, and sometimes also taken out in public.
This is one of those rare non-documentaries where the victim makes an appearance. Here, the real Elizabeth Smart punctuates the flow whenever it’s about to get explicit or too extreme, reminding you about how casual/titillated you can often be, while watching an effed up movie that you know is based on something real.
I have to hand it to Skeet Ulrich who played “Brian David Mitchell” in the film. I wanted to fucking kill him and that is some pretty good acting. The Jesus freak asshole is still in jail getting ass fucked constantly and he loves it. He says that it is God’s will that men fuck him up the ass and he praises the Lord for it. Wanda Ileen Barzee was arrested May 1st, 2025 for violating a sex offender law but that fucking creep is still roaming free in Utah. It’s a good film. 3 stars.
I remember seeing this story on-line & she looked really young at the time. It doesn’t seem like that long ago that this story happened, but she looks old AF now. I guess that being kidnapped & raped every day for Nine months really ages a person.. Good thing that they have those A.I. generated aged photos for missing kids now.

Excellent film. This is how a global population is kept imprisoned whilst thinking it is free and complying. Its FEAR. When we wake up to the money chains and system and start to say NO, we stand some chance of survival if many of us do that. I live in hope.

My question is: well-to-do family, nice house, presumably money to pay for security or lights/alarm, shutters can’t prevent house being broken into and daughter kidnapped. The guy got into the house and no one stirred. Mind boggling.
