This is the International Cut. It’s shorter than the Korean Cut and misses a few scenes, but is more violent during some moments.
Yeah I think we’re pretty clear who won here. Cop got a whole ass life’s trauma and blood on his hands, unnecessary loss and damage of many public servants, while Jung didn’t give a shit whatever happened to him. Neither did he carry a burden. I don’t know why they thought his family would be a pain factor here when he was going to turn himself in anyways, if he lived there’s no way he’d walk. This isn’t Japan, it’s South Korea. 3 years and then you’re out, and women falling for you ain’t happening over there. And he’s definitely not getting away with kidnapping a suspect at a drop off zone, and then killing him.
Great movie though. Production is top class. I just don’t like desperate-deliberate plot holes.

TERRIFIC! This has got to be the best foreign language film I’ve ever seen, and it’s easily as good as any revenge thriller churned out by the US. Gripping story with brilliant performances!
Peak korean crime cinema. Stellar performances, competent filmmaking and an imaginative script will glue you to your screen until this dark and fun adventure is over.

Low IQ action flick. A very good twist and highly entertaining because of the pace and good direction. Looks beautiful, of course. This is not a deep film, but it’s very exciting.
Loved this movie but I find the protagonist a bit stupid for not capturing the killer. If he has done that he could’ve prevented a lot of deaths and assualts. I assume thats a point the movie is trying to make about the depravity his delving into, but still. Either way I’d recommend to watch this
This movie is stupid and drawn out. He should’ve killed or arrested the serial killer when he finally found him and that should’ve been the end of that, but no…. the idiot had to play this out even more in a retarded cat and mouse game which resulted in more lives lost. This is exactly what I meant by not sympathizing with Asian movie characters. They do the dumbest things when they let their emotions get the better of them and it’s usually over the dumbest bullshit.

A welcome addition to the site although I was expecting it to be a tad more vicious.
It is also very long so for those who would like a break I would suggest at the one hour to go mark, the police officer is having a heart-to-heart with his boss and the killer is visiting friends for dinner.
I do not think it is perfect and the melodramatic stuff could easily have been spliced out to shorten it plus somehow the ending just is not nasty enough.
Can’t argue with the excellence of Korean cinema. Thanks for posting Admin.

Hell what do you say about perfection? This film gets accolades on every list it shows up on. So I’m not going to bore everyone with my opinion. 10/10
