In an ordinary Korean neighborhood lives a slightly retarded young man, Do-joon, and his mother. Mother runs a quack business involving acupuncture and rare herbs, while Do-joon idles about with his friend. Mother still treats him like her little baby though – fussing over his food, looking on when he pees; they even sleep on the same bed with Do-joon clutching onto her breasts. Then Do-joon gets into trouble with the cops, first for an assault at a golf course and later, when he’s accused of murdering a schoolgirl. But Mother refuses to believe he’s guilty and sets out to find the real killer.
One of Bong Joon Ho’s works that gained him his deserved fame, most of you should enjoy this, unless you happen to hate Memories of Murder 🙂
An amazing film. Honestly, during the first 20 minutes, I didn’t think I was going to like this movie but it turned out to be an excellent film. Highly recommend. 5 stars.

Enjoyable, slightly too long and pace is all over the place. Overly sentimental ending could have been cut completely.
I found the twist very interesting, but I think what happened afterwards was quite a stretch. In that situation, I’m sure the mother would still be in shock to do anything.
