Plot:
Middle-aged Scottish CCTV operator, Katie’s daily routine involves watching the screens all day, looking out for potential crime and then alerting the control center. But most of it is just about watching other people’s lives. One day, she notices a young man she recognizes, who’s been released early from prison. She’s got history with him and so begins stalking him, hoping to find evidence that he’s the piece of shit she wants him to be. But instead, she ends up inserting herself into the lives of three young people living in a rundown Glasgow flat, who might be trashy, but lead fairly simple lives. The ex-prisoner in particular has a certain youthful ginger charm that’s in contrast to the the parked-van dull quickies she’s used to indulging in with a married colleague. And this fucks with her head and objectives.
Red Road, led by great performances from its two leads, is one of the greater examinations of post-crime life and the feeling of unfinished business in the surviving victims with their own internal regrets.

An interesting movie. a bit long though , but the end was worth it. I liked the streets and alleys of this town in scotland, lower middle class desolation and the same surroundings, boring low paid jobs … enloy the decline and as always big brother is watching you , for your own good.
The only problem I have with this movie is that I can’t really understand her decisions. But it’s still watchable.

Fairly good story if you have the time and patience to find out what it’s all about. It’s kind of slow. Is that what people in situations like that would do at the end? I’m not so sure. 3 stars.
