But as Tom pieces together the trail that leads to harder and more extreme pornography, the young girl in the snuff film and her premature death becomes a personal obsession.
For a movie that came out in 1999, 8mm is fairly prescient in anticipating the smooth and explosive transition of the effed up from film to the internet. It’s also a pleasant experience to hear Joaquin Phoenix address you saying, You dance with the devil, the devil don’t change. The devil changes you 🙂
This one’s an absolute classic!
Perfect
good movie if you ignore all the plot holes.
hardly enough cocksucking to make any part of this film enjoyable
One of my all time favorite movies. It’s not super graphic (compared to a lot of what this site is all about, anyway), but the plot goes to very fucked up places. With top notch acting by Nicholas Cage and Joaquin Phoenix, a winding suspenseful plot, and a brilliant atmospheric soundtrack including a well known Aphex Twin song just before the climax, it seems to me that this crime thriller gem should get more recognition than it does.
For me, good enough to watch for a second time. High definition film, fine cast and plenty of intrigue.
How do I get a pfp? EUM is so retarded. Also this movie is terrible, 7/10
Love the movie, start to finish is betterly made.
i laugh when cage ask the guy if theres anything harder.
This movie is perfect 10/10
Havent seen this since I was 8 or 9, looked for it for decades
Kinda weird to see so many big names in a site like this ng.
Really good , cant believe i hadnt seen it before.
This film just trundles along like so many of its type. A guy gets hired, is obviously out of his depth and is being given the run-a-round.
Some of the acting in this is so desperately poor its being used as a plot device. I truly was waiting for it all to end. To the extent I was more concerned that the post-man did not even say hello when he walked by and why throughout the film was it focussed on sweeping up leaves.
Its provides a couple of hours of entertainment but nothing more.
If you liked this one then also watch Tesis, it’s here on EUM too
Diminished by their sentimentalizing the girl in the video.
This was once the only 18+ film I had access to and as a child I snuck it into my room late at night and watched it in secret. A great teacher I suppose and I am grateful for the holy experience even if now it is much less so than I remember.
Try limit my comments you CUNTS I will prevail & the fans using my name suck my balls
Imagine being trolled on this site, getting branded a skank or bar whore, simply for my pfp… I don’t drink, I don’t touch narcotics, I’m content and single thank you. I’m definitely not what you’re slanderously suggesting, so perhaps you could simply upload an image of yourself (or an unrelated photo of your choice) and mind your business. You emanate envious chagrin for unbeknownst reasons… It must be difficult for you having confidence issues with your own aesthetic 🙂
In future, retain your bitchiness, work on yourself instead because projecting your crass malignance (that result undeniably from your insecurity manifestation) heighten your distinct self-loathing.
Have a beautiful evening 🙂
@Admin: “to hear Joaquin Phoenix address you saying” He doesn’t address us as viewers, he addresses Nicholas… As pops.
Thoroughly enjoyed it… Bit daft in some parts but a gritty portent fuelling thrillarma. Pretty realistic too.
Amazing
aw, that was fun. subtext is kind of fascinating, about the fears of fatherhood and the concept of not being able to protect a girl in a world that profits off of violence against them. as always nic cage is a joy to watch
Great thriller. One that keep your eyes glued to the screen.
I can only watch the first half hour then I lose the sound, its not my computer because I have tried watching this a few times and the sound stop in the exact place. Anyways I thought the part where he is watching for the first time turned me off. His reaction to the girl getting slapped was way over reacted for the work he does. Anyways would like to see the whole movie if the sound is fixed.
great film – just watched the golden glove – could be one for this site
Not so a nice movie but still was good at average style
And now, this is a movie!
great plot, great camerawork and supreme revelation at the end. very good film all in all, with a fantastic Nicholas Cage.
also funny how cage’s and phoenix’s careers have taken a diametrically opposed route; Cage won the Oscar but his career went from good to pretty awful, nowadays starring in C-level films at best. Phoenix plays the sidekick in this movie, but won the Oscar recently.
One of the best films on this site, but what else do you expect from Hollywood?
wow who tought i would see the character from the movie Gladiator who played cecær or how its spelled. anyone know his name please? he is great actor too but i have not seen him in many movies. maybe he is drug addict in real life i can tell from his face or maybe health issues.
What a classic film, underrated as fuck. Not a big Nicolas Cage fan but he nailed this role. Acting was top notch all across the board. James Gandolfini was a stud actor, his role was brilliantly performed. The plot was so well put together I was entertained the entire way through. You see characters from the super rich to underground porno sleazebags. There was some great effed up scenes and vibes throughout the film. I can’t believe I haven’t seen this until now, I enjoyed the hell out of it. I was skeptical before watching this because of the big name Hollywood actors but I was wrong. Definetly check this classic out! I give this a solid 7.5/10
“8mm” and “The Frozen Ground” are Nicolas Cage’s best work
God, over 20 yrs ago?! Late 90s, all those yrs, all those 8 balls, yeah 3.5 gr yo
you know the title song singer Tarrie B of Tura Satana, yeah i used to date her
you know the theme song singer Richard James of Aphex Twins, yeah i used to date him
you know the . . .
First part is a bit slow, but it picks up. Good storyline and the end is dramatic and exciting. Good acting as well. Overall a good movie 8/10
One of my fave Nicolas Cage movies. Joaquin is also terrific.
I don’t really like Nick Cage; however he is a tour de force in this movie. My new favorite movie staring him. He was also fantastic in Leaving Las Vegas. Thanks for the upload. Thanks for this site!
Ah Jenny Powell beautiful, good film poor fight scenes Nicolas Cage being Nicolas Cage but entertaining non the less
EUM guys, I have this film on DVD and running time says 2hrs 9min, 6 min short of this version. Are there any cuts here? By the way, excellent choice, you have class. Cheers!
Max is so hot
Haha, good April Fools joke posting this.
from the guy who wrote 7 – so you know it will be fucked up – always hoped it would be more seriously fucked up – but dark for a mainstream film and worth it for the cast
This is the second time this has happen of recent – a movie I had just watched elsewhere appears here. Last one was “Compliance”… and now, my absolute favorite Nick Cage movie – 8 mm. I don’t know what it is about this film because the acting and story line are just a little sub-par, but I enjoy it immensely every time I see it. Thank you, admin, for all you do to keep us amused. I wish you good health, unimaginable wealth, and infinite wisdom. May all your wildest dreams become reality.
by far one of my fav movies on this website now, tysm EUM
