Based on Tobias Wolff’s autobiographical book, This Boy’s Life follows Toby and his mother Caroline as they move from town to town looking for an anchor. They finally end up in Seattle while getting away from Caroline’s obsessive boyfriend and here she meets the middle-aged Dwight with three kids of his own. Though Dwight is awkward and eager to impress, he offers the promise of a stable life and so Caroline agrees to marry him.
Toby who has been shunted from school to school also is keen to better himself and his friend-circle. But as the months roll by, Dwight’s overwhelming personality begins to take its toll and every day becomes a living hell for Toby.

why is this movie here
This movie is a stinker. One of DeNiro’s weakest roles and Decraprio sucks in every movie he is in. Leonardo is an incredibly bad actor. Ellen Barkin was OK but the script is so weak that she comes off looking bad as well. Big budget Hollywood crap. 1 star.

I’m not crazy about this film. I’ve taken way more abuse than Leonardo’s character and they never made a movie about me. I could tell you some stories that are way better than this movie.
