Angel Heart (1987)

Option 1Can't Watch?

Wait 30secs. Movie still not playing? Click the "Can't Watch?" tab.

If the movie didn't load, it means you are being blocked by a security service we use. This can happen for a number of reasons.

Click this first

A new tab will open and a basic security check like a captcha will be performed. After completing the check, close that page and return here.

Refresh this page. Wait 30 secs. The movie should load and you can just hit play.

If it still doesn't play, Click here to watch the movie

The movie should now start playing in a new tab of your browser or begin downloading to your device. This option has the minor disadvantage that English-language movies with optional subtitles in the movie player will not include these subs with this method.

The new system here has been designed keeping in mind even people with low internet speeds sub-8mbps. Even if you have a really bad connection, you should still be able to watch the movie without any issues if you:
Start the movie. Pause it. Wait for 30-45 seconds. Start playing again.

This 'Can't Watch' method really only works if it's your specific device/browser that's interfering with the player. There is no real advantage of speed here. Or if there is a temp network glitch or read lag from the server disk.

If you're still having problems, try using 'Incognito mode' in your browser. On iPhones, especially older ones, use Chrome instead of Safari. Might help.

IMPORTANT: Please make sure that the newly opened tab is not an ad popup asking you to download some software or whatever. Close any such popups and don't download any software - those are ads. Nothing is needed to be done by you other than to complete the security check which is often automated.

****************************Spoilers follow****************************
Plot:
In ’50s New York, a small-time private detective, Harry Angel, is taken aback when a mysterious man, Lou Cyphre, hires him to track a singer from WW2 who reneged on a contract.

Harry isn’t used to clients who have an attorney representing them but takes up the job nonchalantly thinking it’s easy money. He has a charm and sharpness about him that makes gathering information not too hard and soon his investigations take him to Louisiana. Here he’s passionately drawn to a 17-year-old single mom who’s a mambo by night and the two produce one of the more effed up sex scenes you’d find in ’80s American cinema.

Wherever Harry goes, brutal murders follow and the cops begin to suspect his role in them. It doesn’t help Harry that there are moments of silence with himself where he hears and sees things and briefly seems to know fragments of the truth about himself.

An ’80s gem you might’ve heard about, but not seen.

Random:
Rourke and De Niro grew to dislike each other on-set and the fake smile from Cyphre during the first meeting with Angel fits the scene of someone knowing more about the person he’s hiring, but also as a reflection of the personal dislike.

Genres: Detective-Mystery, Satanism-Vodou, Incest

Clever, I never thought I’ll watch DeNiro dressed up as a satanist kinda vampiric looked set. Rourke delivering hot comedy and unsettling despair one in all as a detective has to be memorable throughout all the film. He kinda reminded me of detective Harry A from series The Sinner which i find pretty interesting they both share the same name. Awesome movie thanks for posting it. It’s worth the detailed analysis with the music background well performed in those mysterious and tense moments.

Holy shit, damn good flick. I knew about this movie back in the 90’s, and I love Mickey Rourke, Bobbie DeNiro and Lisa Bonet, but never watched it for some reason. Thank you for posting, it is actually a very good movie, and just effed up enough to belong on this site. Keep up the great work, Admin.

Classic piece of 80s glossy and cheesy mainstream horror that your mum will like. Lisa Bonet looks good though.

Spoiler warning. Definitely effedup but the name choice could’ve been less obvious. Louis Cypher. Even Harry made a crack at it. Maybe an anagram for the name Lucifer or perhaps one of the devil’s longer names from folklore. That would’ve been more fitting, considering the detective theme in the movie.

just dated the old guy I told you about (look for my previous post in Green Butcher). He is about 10 year older than me. It was a great first date. However, we never had sex. We agreed on a second date this friday. Im pretty sure we’re going to fuck each other. Cant wait to suck his huge cock and put it in my tight asshole. So excited. That’s all.

It doesn’t surprise me to hear this recent news about Steve. I was his neighbor for 2 years. This guy has always been a fucking trainwreck of a human being. Just pure, human shit really.
I remember he would dress like he lived in a clock and run around his yard screaming, “I’m Steampunk Steve. I’m Steampunk Steve!” At all hours of the night. Fucking moron had no concept of time really.
All I could think to do was throw my dogs shit at him and shoot frozen paintballs at his genital area. I wish I could’ve done more to torment him, but I had to make a living and get up early to do so. He offered nothing to society. I hated my neighbor Steve and I’m glad he is no more.
Steve was a nothing master, a nonce and a nutter. Fuck you, Steve.

Breaking news; Steve is still alive but he now has anal herpes and the clap which he undoubtedly caught by one of the little boys he recently sodomized. Since he lives in a third-world country with shit doctors and nasty uncleaned equipment, his chances of survival right now are very low but dont bother holding your breath as the cunt always somehow prevails. Don’t believe the faggot beneath this comment and ignore all the pathetic naysayers that likes to get their 15-minutes of fame as well. We will be back when theres an update. If youd like to leave your worthless thoughts on the subject, feel free to drop a comment.

When the police arrived at the scene (located in the basement of the house) they found; 73 terabytes of C.S.A.M, plastic bottles filled with urine and a 7 year old girl inside of a dog cage. Authorities are currently doing further investigation, we will be updating on the subject.

The only thing that is bad about a really above average movie is the mis cast of Lisa Bonet
She’s supposed to be a swamp voodoo nigga but her accent is that of a valley girl on Xanax?
Shit , Della Reece would have been a better choice ? Anybody ? , butterfly McQueen ?,tina turner ? Anyone ? Any body?
And the Louis Cipher ,Lucifer thing is a little obvious. Boy o boy what happened to Mickey O ???
He is a train wreck no days ,,,ouch ,he was really good back in the day .

A great movie! Micky Rourke’s best film! I have watched it as a teenager and was shocked! I like the ending scene when he is going down in the elevator, like going down in hell…
And as usual and again Mr.Steve has obliterated his haters at the comments…

Actually with the obvious dis-respect of the people who run this place I am very suss. The level of fucked-up has been dismal for a long time. I would not be surprised if the spooks have taken over and use this site for data-gathering. It would explain how films like Angel Heart with its blockbuster video availabiilty have creeped in. Yep its a good film and I have watched many times but episodes of Captain Pugwash (70s series) are more disturbing.

I checked back in after being away for a while, hoping maybe this site had grown up. Nope. Still the same creepy, pedo-adjacent vibe, with the ever-present “Steve” persona proudly setting the tone — apparently with Aznin’s blessing.

It’s honestly impressive how many better sites exist elsewhere: better movies, better moderation, and gore content that doesn’t feel like wandering into pedo-land.

And then there’s “Steve” and his loyal leeches and alias, endlessly recycling empty, 10-year-old-tier replies like it’s some kind of sad echo chamber.

Anyway, enjoy your little club. I’m out. Bye, pedo team.

This is Mickey Rourke’s very best performance made at the height of his fame in 1987. It didn’t do great at the box office and there is a reason for that. 1987 was also the year he fucked up his career in Hollywood by alienating himself from his peers with his attitude and bad mouthing Hollywood big shot Samuel Goldwyn Jr. I’m a big fan of Mickey Rourke and I’ve seen just about all his movies (yeah, a lot of the bad ones too). “Angel Heart” is my favorite along with “The Wrestler” (2008) being a close second. Although Mickey will most likely be remembered for “9 and a 1/2 Weeks” (1986), I feel that “Angel Heart” is one of his absolute best films and it gets 5 stars from me. Recommend BIG TIME.

“Mickey Rourke: The Dark Side of Fame with Piers Morgan” (2008) is a great interview to watch to get a better understanding of Mickey. Out of all the interviews I’ve seen with Mickey, for some reason he seems to really open up to Piers Morgan.
