Wait 30secs. Movie still not playing? Click the "Can't Watch?" tab.
Click this first
A new tab will open and a basic security check like a captcha will be performed. After completing the check, close that page and return here.
Refresh this page. Wait 30 secs. The movie should load and you can just hit play.
If it still doesn't play, Click here to watch the movie
The movie should now start playing in a new tab of your browser or begin downloading to your device. This option has the minor disadvantage that English-language movies with optional subtitles in the movie player will not include these subs with this method.
The new system here has been designed keeping in mind even people with low internet speeds sub-8mbps. Even if you have a really bad connection, you should still be able to watch the movie without any issues if you:
Start the movie. Pause it. Wait for 30-45 seconds. Start playing again.
This 'Can't Watch' method really only works if it's your specific device/browser that's interfering with the player. There is no real advantage of speed here. Or if there is a temp network glitch or read lag from the server disk.
If you're still having problems, try using 'Incognito mode' in your browser. On iPhones, especially older ones, use Chrome instead of Safari. Might help.
IMPORTANT: Please make sure that the newly opened tab is not an ad popup asking you to download some software or whatever. Close any such popups and don't download any software - those are ads. Nothing is needed to be done by you other than to complete the security check which is often automated.

Plot – Spoilers:
Diverse characters and their backstories are explored in separate chapters – there’s plenty of time for that with the 4-hour runtime.
We begin with the lead character Yu. Following the untimely death of his mother, he grows up with a depressed father who immerses himself in Christianity, even becoming a popular local priest. Temptress Kaori enters and leaves their lives, leaving dad cold and cruel to the point where he doesn’t accept Yu’s confessions at church anymore, insisting that Yu’s lying about his sinless life. So in an effort to reconnect with dad, Yu starts sinning and when the sins don’t seem good enough, he befriends a gang of misfits from school and takes to sexual sins to enrage father. The group specializes in upskirt clicks and Yu is the undefeated champ, elevating him to a leader role.
But for all his collection of panty and thigh snaps, Yu just can’t get hard. He keeps waiting for his personal Virgin Mary to turn him on and this happens when he saves Yoko from a bunch of thugs. Only problem is, he was in drag at the time on a dare, and has to continue the charade to continue meeting Yoko, because she despises all men. It gets more complicated when Yoko moves into Yu’s home because it turns out she’s Kaori’s step-daughter and so when Kaori returns, Yoko becomes some kind of sister to Yu. There’s also a cult member, Koike, who’s out to recruit the whole bunch and also has her eyes on Yu.
Love Exposure is one of those really long movies that you could actually watch in one sitting, because it’s ridiculously entertaining, even despite a soppy love angle that creeps in towards the end. Even where the scenes are about pain and misery, there is an element of dark humor that makes it almost comedic – like when one of the characters is being beaten with a belt by her father, and he insists she say, “Geeve it to me”.
The English subtitles also lead to some (possibly) unintentional wordplay, like at the end:
Who’s Yu?
You!
I’m Yu…?
Yes, Yu.

masterpiece!
I am not a fan of Japanese comedies. I just don’t think they are very funny. It’s starts out ok but then he meets the voyeur pervert and thing start going down hill. This is the last movie I had to watch to finish watching every movie on EUM. I watched it about half way. It’s not going to make any of my “best of” or “worst of” lists so I don’t give a shit to watch the rest of a movie I don’t like. I guess you could say technically that I didn’t watch every movie and that’s fine. This film at the moment has a 4.9 out of 5 star rating on EUM. The production is good but the production is good in “Dumb And Dumber” (1994) and I wouldn’t give that film a 4.9 out of 5 even though it’s a better movie. I would have given this 2 and a half stars but since it is so wildly over rated I going to give it 1 star.
Peak, absolute cinema
Love you, Virgin Mary!
the most japanese movie ever made. 10/10 would recommend
Possibly Sion Sono’s best film. If you like Japanese cinema this is absolutely unmissable.
It was like a specially bad season of the Monogatari series, which I’d much rather recommend over this.
I have found the extended version … on youtube
https://youtu.be/K7YWEl3nipM
the implications of christianity and empowerment, the utilization of classical music to push up intensities of scenes, and the white rooms and white costumes of the hypercritical. Just like the Japanese domestication of Modernism architecture. Which were also highly scened in Kubrick’s pictures. Even aside from its thesis, it’s still a fabulous picture to enjoy!
this received too much exposure when it was first released
beautiful
The end was retarded at had no logica store at all
This movie was a rollercoaster, I was on a constant cycle of loving and hating it, I came out loving this flick. The Japanese are unmatched when it comes to crazy shit. It’s long but well worth the watch. A story of love, perversion, duplicity, and god. What a gem, th the fashion, the music, the story just wow.
I’m not a SSono’s big fan but I loved this
Didn’t expect to see this kind of movie on this website since I thought it only provided B-movies here. The plot is so refreshing compared with other movies on this site and this is such a great movie that the ending actually made me cry. TT
I was charged with exposure once (I lie, 27 times) pulling my cock out & milking it outside preschools & daycare centres, I really don’t get what their problem is?
this didnt get much exposure when it was first released
I love Koike
Finally a good movie
Hear my heart go Doki Doki! everytime
I love Japanese drama
Could easily have been edited down to two hours. The first 45 mins just drags. If people expect it to jump pace and go full mental later on you will be dissapointed. I kind of enjoyed it but also constantly wanted something more. It took more than one sitting for me to get through.
I thought this movie fits to the incest category as well…
EXCELLENT!!!
Another great one to check out (or add here!) :
Why Don’t You Play In Hell
This week I went through the effedup-archives. I was pleasantly surprised again about the amazing range of high quality films offered here, and I felt grateful for introducing me to many great often-overlooked movies. This Sion Sono movie is an excellent addition to your archive, thanks, Admins! Sorry to say this, but this movie is easy to find elsewhere, even for old people like me. This is not a request, but if you would really would want to make a difference, try to give us access to Sion Sono’s ‘Love and Peace’ here. And now that I write something, ever thought of the Nikos Nikolaidis film ‘The Zero Years’? Note that this is not a request, just an attempt to give life to an important effedup movie that seems to be almost dead!
Wow, Awesome, I’ve never heard of this anywhere before, Ever, Thankyou & Strap in for a long haul of Japanese depravity, Very cool.
Japanese madness at the finest.
