tl;dr A movie about self-loathing.
Nami once acted in a rape porno and the rape might have been real. A few years later, she works as a receptionist at a ‘love hotel’. Muraki meanwhile, is the owner of a porn production studio and also directs some of its more kinky features. He considers himself an artist and is bored of his work and the easily-available women, particularly one cheating lady who visits him once a week often forcing him to fuck her.
Fate ensures that Nami and Muraki’s paths cross and he’s shaken when he sees her because he’s always been infatuated with her ever since he watched her porno. But Nami by now has been so traumatized by her experience and the fact that ever so often, men recognize her and want a piece of her.
Two flawed doomed characters – can they flock together?
This is a very stylish movie for what should have been just another Japanese pink film. Some of the efforts to obscure the actors’ genitalia are creative, and the shots surprisingly metaphorical at times – for example, the final shot in the movie that encapsulates Nami’s self-hatred.

Perverted Japanese soft core porn with some really awkward sex scenes and a lame love story. I’m glad the guy got the shit beaten out of him a couple of times. 2 stars.

Better plot and emotional depth between characters than the first film and a lot more tits and ass as well which is a nice bonus. However, it is the last 5 min of the film that is not only unexpected but ‘ties up’ the beginning of the film with the end, and the bleakness / loss of hope that is portrayed really elavated this film above Angel Guts 1 imo. A strong 3/5 old calendars.
