Plot – Spoilers:
Billy exits the prison gates and realizes he badly needs to pee. But he just can’t catch a break, with every potential loo shutting him out. Since he seems shy of whipping out his (apparently) big cock in open public places however empty, he ends up running round town clutching his dick. Eventually he bursts into a dance studio and tries to use their bathroom but is upset by another man there.
This opening scene in many ways sums up Billy. A complex man who revels in complicating everything. And for the longest while, he remains a sympathetic character. Even when he kidnaps a girl Layla at the studio and orders her to pretend to be his wife when he visits his parents. Layla is either bored or curious and plays along without much resistance, maybe because she’s instantly drawn to him or because she doesn’t feel he would really hurt her. But Billy is a piece of shit with piece of shit parents. He thinks he’s a somebody but truly believes he’s a nobody, even though he might have won some bowling championship as a kid. He might also be a virgin. But he’s basically a bully who bursts into tears at the first sign of a fightback. Billy makes it hard for you to retain your sympathy even after you’ve met his parents. Or even when you can see from his loner point of view, how Layla who remained sweet and pretty the majority of the time, now shows signs of becoming demanding. And for all of this, and the two leads, this is mostly a triumph.

Strange, I’m a man who struggles with identity sometimes and my sweet girlfriend showed this movie to me when we got together initially telling me it reminds her of us and I ended up crying during very random moments that just seemed like normal interactions between them not because they were sad or happy but because I resonated with the way he carried himself and how she was treating him despite his strange behavior, I suppose I might be a damaged human being looking at my own aching wounds, but it matters not if there’s someone to tend to them. Thank you.

I couldn’t figure out why Layla didn’t simply drive away when Billy went for his whiz by the tree. At this point he had just roughly abducted her and for all she knew he could have been a rapist. Perhaps he took the keys but this wasn’t shown in the movie.
Of course after she spends some time with him she actually falls for him. I guess that’s not too far fetched since many young girls seem to go for the ‘bad boys’. I suppose it’s a sense of excitement until they get older and she realizes what a loser he is or she is either abandoned with small kids or she is regularly domestically abused.
Billy may have come from a dysfunctional family and perhaps has an excuse but he was simply put an asshole. He seemed to bully his closest and slow friend Goon and who bets $10,000 on the Bills? I can’t see him suddenly doing a 180 in his personality.
I can’t say I liked this fill too much but I couldn’t turn it off so I was hooked.
