Plot – Spoilers:
A young woman is hired to take care of a house in New York with the only condition that a locked room must not be opened under any circumstance. As the hours roll by, the woman finds herself intrigued by the locked room, a necklace with an inverted cross and the story of the previous caretaker having committed suicide. Soon intrigue turns to psychosis and when she runs into a man randomly on the street, she becomes obsessed with extracting revenge on him for his role in past trauma she gets flashbacks of.

what a piece of shit… a totally boring and imbalanced movie. We did not even know what the man did to the darling…
the only thing that was worth it was the house and the darlings big mouth , indeed when she screamed her mouth was almost half her face! 1*
It could have been a perfectly okay film if it weren’t for the tiresome and ridiculous sound effects that ran throughout the film.
A skilled director, who understands the importance of being sublime, could have created a creeping tension. Now it became an overdose of scenes where both sound and camera cuts constantly tell us to be scared. In the end, you just get tired.

Darling is a real cutie. I like petite natural dark haired girls with pretty faces. Movie isn’t bad at all. The black and white footage and sometimes unnerving camera angles add good effect.

A spooky movie with a spooky musical soundtrack that build tension throughout. Lots of jump scares and non-subliminal “Pazuzu” type cuts. 4 stars.
I watched this when I was 10 and again at 12. This brings back memories. It’s a decent movie, I like the aesthetic. But it’s very scary for me. Psychosis is very disturbing in movies because you never know if they’re gonna misunderstand it.
It even reminds me of Saw. I’ve watched all the Saw movies.
