God Bless America is for when you feel American Beauty or Falling Down didn’t say Fuck You enough.
This movie is just a progressives fantasy. Because Falling Down doesn’t say fuck white America enough.
If you got that from this. It says more about you. Bobcat is a comic who likes to dick around. The man spent a decade hunting Bigfoot and you take him seriously. ????????????
To be fair to the OP, this is clearly a movie intended to say something significant with satire. The fact that he’s done more shallow stuff elsewhere doesn’t preclude the fact that this film is supposed to convey a message. In that spirit, I think it’s entirely fair to analyse it, but OP’s analysis is just baby-pool shallow and completely lacking in insight.
man shut the fuck up
Kinda. It’s clear that the script is coming at things from a very progressive angle, but the problems it satirises are overwhelmingly caused by that same progressivism. Would most of this stuff be an issue if America was a traditionalist conservative country? Hell no. I think one of the biggest causes of this nihilistic cultural decline is the death of religiosity, which is clearly associated with the “progress” of progressivism. I’m not religious myself but I can spot a causal relationship when I see one (and, frankly, I wish I was religious; turns out that believing in something, even if it’s a myth, makes for a much happier and more cohesive society).
As an inherent result of the state of America, the film makes a largely traditionalist argument — my guess is unintentionally. I’d be open to the possibility that Bobcat understands this but some of the screeds he put into the lead character’s mouth and the complete misdiagnoses of the issues leads me to suspect that he wasn’t that self-aware.
Nonetheless, a ton of the movie is still relatable to anyone sick of or alienated by the incredible vacuousness and superficiality of pop culture. Whenever I’m forced to watch modern TV, I get the exact same feeling of extreme ennui as this guy — heck, it morphs into existential terror some of these days. I’m a hard traditionalist conservative and not even American but I still found some of the commentary varying degrees of relatable, insightful, and funny. The “special relationship” is alive and well insofar as the entire Anglosphere gets dragged into the cultural vortex that is the USA — meaning that I understood almost every reference in the whole film. Not that I’m particularly blaming America. The same agents of degenerate chaos are moving in parallel throughout the Western world.
In one sense, the film is more relevant than when it was made, as the trashy TV shows etc. are trashier than ever. In another sense, the film has aged badly, particularly whenever the it verges off into rants about how we’re in the “edgy” era (which I miss, especially compared to today). In fact, the film was probably dated in that respect by the time in came out: 2011 was at the furthest end of the edgy era, already tipping over into the PC onslaught of the last decade. All of the “edgy” jokes he complains about would get you cancelled now. Which means, I suppose, that Bobcat won on that front at least. I wonder if he’s happy with how repressive and restrictive the resultant culture is. The part of the critique that required more “””progress””” has been “resolved” (and then some), while the bulk of the critique, requiring a more traditional turn, has vanished beyond the realm of possibility.
Anyway, that’s a more nuanced (but still shallow because I don’t have the time to go further) take on the politics of the film, imo. Anti-whiteness is essentially epidemic in Western film today but this film didn’t annoy me half as much as any random American emergency services drama or police procedural on TV right now. Sure, the digs at immigration restrictionists being “scared of foreigners” etc. were retarded strawmen, but the whole film is strawmen — that’s satire, most of the time. Final thought: despite not irritating me to the extent of most 2010s Hollywood enterprises, God Bless America was, for me, just slightly depressing rather than comical, because of how close it cuts to the reality of my everyday exposure to the psychic poison otherwise known as modern Western “culture”. Best wishes friendos.
Detta movie had some hilarious moments. Many moments that had me laughing, pointing at the screen and screaming “ja!!!!!”. Although it also had some lower points. Example – bargain bin Abigail Breslin. I felt the film had much more potential before she was introduced.
Also, girls who constantly need to be told that they are pretty and fish for compliments.. really need to be added to that list.
Thanks for the new film admins! Viewed because I read ol Bobcat directed it.
I would think if u liked Idiocracy, but wanted a bit more violence, black comedy, and social commentary, this’d b it. Heavy on the satire, I kept thinking it’d break the 4th wall and go full-on meta, yet that never happened. Prbly a good thing.
Good acting, good chemistry between the two protagonists, nothing really seemed cheap, production-wise. Enlisted a few chuckles from me, surprisingly. Dragged in a few parts tho, imo.
On a satirical black comedy level, I guess I found it slightly above average, 6/10. Them hating Juno made me round up;)
This is actually a cute movie. A black comedy along the lines of “Heathers”. The politics are tongue-in-cheek as they go after a couple of over-the-top far-right wing nut jobs, yet they very happily embrace conservative values. If anything, I’d say they was a little mockery going on towards both sides. Besides, if you’re a fan of Space Ghost Coast to Coast you know Bobcat leans to the right in his politics. And then there’s the homage paid to Alice Cooper, a very open and vocal conservative. (can you believe that shit?!) But same with Ozzie and Gene Simmons and Johnny Rotten. A lot of those old rockers have moved to the right. Especially the punk rockers.
I also gave it an extra star for the doff-of-the-cap to Taxi Driver and Jackie Brown. Fans of those two movies should know what I’m talking about. If not, it’s the scene where he’s buying the gun. The gun salesman pretty much delivers the lines, word-for-word of the gun salesman in Taxi Driver… and
from Samuel L. Jackson’s AK-47 pitch in Jackie Brown.
And as always…. Thank you EUM guys. I truly appreciate you!
Saw it more as making fun of dumb yanks and the state of their third world country
The name of the movie is God bless America. Good job you got the point????????♂️????????♂️????????♂️
i think its meant to be cynical…
Maybe the left-wing just left some of them behind over the years: seems to be happening a lot. It was a very different proposition back when those guys were forming their politics. Of course, some of the punks probably also felt compelled to espouse all that anarchy bollocks etc. for their credibility.
Interesting list of conservative musicians though, cheers.
The rants got a bit tedious, but otherwise it was a pretty entertaining movie. I agree with the sentiment, just found the delivery kinda contrived. Thanks EUM for another great evening.
Which is why all you Euro-tards try so hard to be like us. =P
You’re being ironic I hope? Maybe 20 years ago America was on the bucket list of countries too visit for all the people i know who travel a bit. But the romantication of the US is long dead, now when you have showed the world how things really work over there. Drug/tobacco/and weapon manufacturers seems like they can write their own laws. Now even vaping is illegal, because big tobacco was losing money? For Gods sake, outlaw that stuff that at worst is a more healty alternative too smoking cigarettes.
It’s so corrupt on the highest levels, you function basically like a third world country who just happens to be rich.. Aaand the stupidity, oh my the stupidity..
“Aaaaaad the stupidity…” says the moron who makes shit up about vaping being illegal.
Bet ya he dresses just like an american… and listens to American music…. who is commenting on an American made movie. Because he’s NOT rich.
What a Euro-tard.
hehehehe!
Ok the ban isn’t in effect yet I guess, but it’s damn near impossible to get ingredients to make your own juice. The people i know have to order from Europe.
Also, with all I wrote, the bit about vaping was the only part u had a reply too..?
I don’t know what being rich got to do with anything. But being from a country consistenly being voted top 3 among the richest and safest countries to live in, I’m pretty sure I’m richer than you if we gonna go down that childish road.. Especially with those ridiculously low salaries you people recive. No wonder there’s so many fat kids there, when a fucking banana is close to a luxury. Even your former president is morbidly obese, no wonder the whole world laughs at you. If you can’t come back with something more objective than that, u can sit there and dream back to the 50s when America still wass number 1, and not just in mass shootings
Bitch needs a good curb stomp. Fuckin Murican twats. Go eat another big mac “lil” Lisa. Helige Satan.
there is no vaping ban jackass
I mean theres no point in replying to what you said bc youre so naive that you obviously believe everything you read on the internet lmfao. There are vape stores everywhere and you can walk into stores and buy anything you want.
Bro we can walk into a store and buy weed, same thing with guns. You really think vape juice is where we draw the line? Lmfao.
On top of that, do you know how many people receive food stamps over here? Even poor people eat good, at least for a few weeks out of the month (at least the ones that dont sell their stamps for drug money). So im not sure what that dumbass banana comment was about, except maybe that you cant stop thinking about phallic objects haha.
What kinda shithole do you live in Osama?
As of October 20, 2021, the United States Postal Service will no longer ship vape products. The PACT Act, an acronym for the misleadingly titled Prevent All Cigarette Trafficking Act, prohibits the shipping of electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS) devices and e-liquid products through USPS.
After vaping for six months, who tf buys their stuff in stores with 200% markup when you can make the same bottle in 10 minutes?
I think that’s what he meant, and now you can’t do that, check the vape forums.
And as he said, of all those things you still got a hang up over the vaping part..?
“On top of that, do you know how many people receive food stamps over here?” Wow, I’ve never heard that sentence used as bragging before..
Yes u can go into stores and buy weed, go in stores and buy guns, good times. How did that last shooting spree work out for ya, how many died? But are u gonna do anything about it..? Nooo, ofc not, cause NRA got so much power. Love your Purdue farma etc too btw.. What are u doing with those small towns still stuck in the opioid crisis? They’re just.. there.. it seems.
Idk about Osama, but me, I live in Norway. Very few ppl call that a shit hole compared to the US. Even your former president said “Why don’t we get more immigrants from places like Norway?”????♂️ I don’t think he’s really understood what it’s about, why go to a country that’s worse..? But I’m sure you’ll find plenty of stuff that’s horrible in Norway/Scandinavia and convince yourself (and maybe me) that living in America is better. I mean it’s so much easier just to get any gun i want with very little hazzle!
Very few people? OK I’ll say it, American rules and stupid Norway is a shit hole 🙂
America rules? Okay dickhead, shoot up your schools and blame it on guns and mental illness lmfaoooo
Norway is beautiful. Unlike the shitstain of America and its bloated clandestine debauchery
You’re dystopian of humanity. Enjoy your food stamps and wallowing in your filth gormandiser, fucking ugly ‘cuntry’

Suicide in the United States is a major national public health issue. The country has one of the highest suicide rates among wealthy nations. In 2020, there were 45,799 recorded suicides, up from 42,773 in 2014, according to the CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics… So please enlighten me as to why this is so?
Suicide rate US is 16.1 people per 100,000, Japan 15.3, UK 7.9. Belgium the land of waffles, beer and helpful doctors 18.3. So its a mixed bunch of numbers and as with everything you can not compare countries because the manner in which they collect the stats is so different it takes an awful amount of fudging.
I would say that the US is more or less the same as Europe and if the CDC is actually actively doing something about it that is a good thing. Or maybe people would prefer to live in Haiti 9.6 suicide or North Korea 9.4.
I would point out that more men kill themselves than women and that could be for many reasons but I tend to think these are not suicides as much as homicides that the police have failed to spot.
Fuck yes, is it relative or detained from elaborate data-physicality?
The cdc equilibrium is a select megalomanic influence
Recognisance is deliberated through the trap culture, deliberating the grandiosity to promote warfare, black metal and dictatorial lyricism is reflective of such
Please, let’s speak properly and become involved with relative commentary regarding this, summon idealism and not fuckery
Muffles, how can we introduce productive annotation and beget doltish ambiguity/
Its derivative is incomparable and you know this, your personal opinion is warranted, not data collective refuse
You warrant polysemy, fucking silence the crap on here!
I don’t agree that European countries are attempting to emulate the US (although they *should* be emulating certain aspects, like the constitutional freedoms and current populist politics). America is an admirable nation and a fascinating experiment in a de novo European country (the US is fundamentally European, whether they think of themselves that way or not; it was created with the explicit intention of becoming a nation of/for all Euro ethnicities). But I don’t think Europeans are attempting to emulate it nowadays. Most Europeans are big supporters of their nationalised healthcare systems, for example (even the conservatives, like me). However, I’ll say I’m a fan of (most of) the constitution and wish that we had an actual written constitution here in Britain (some people try to claim we have an implied constitution, but it’s bullshit because it has no special status within the law). I especially wish we had a First and Second Amendment, because I agree with the authors that you need those two freedoms to guarantee yourself the others (there’s a good reason those two came first). The level of censorship in the UK is becoming oppressive and, unlike the US, where “cancel culture” merely means you lose your job or whatever, it means you lose your freedom here, which is having a definite chilling effect on political discourse. Overall, America is pretty cool, but it has problems that Europeans have solved (and vice-versa, tbf). I certainly wouldn’t press a button to switch everything about our society, culture, and politics with the US. US pop culture is particularly in a bad place. Hell, US pop culture’s vacuous superficiality and brash in-your-faceness is most of what this film is mocking.
shut the bullshit, your country is Eu’s colonial empire.
John Dee is actually the rightful owner of the US but like Boudica before him he did not get what was promissed.
Europeans don’t even attempt to hide their jealousy tbf
Constitutional freedom of the US?
As so many of these written documents were written a long time ago the fact they are difficult to change means that eventually a country is actually restricted by them rather than set free.
The UK has an uncodified set of laws mainly from three seperate documents and that gives it the flexibility to change. Although it was incredibly restricted (still is) by european laws. In the next decade as long as a labour government does not get in the UK will have such a flexible set-up in law it will trounce a US even though it is a tiny speck both by land mass and economy.
The damage done in the UK was when The War Criminal tony took the human rights legislation and put it into UK law. By doing so he changed everything. Instead of you can do what you want unless it is specifically banned the law stated you can only do the things that are specifically not banned. This hopefully will be reversed in the next couple of years and the UK will recover.
As for censorship I think you put too much faith in the news-media being truthful. They are not and the legislation that is comming will not restrict the day to day lives of normal people. It is too vague for that an once it actually gets tested in front of a judge will fall apart qucker than the free flights to rwanda scheme. That is of course if it actually ever gets through the parliamentary process.
It’s a genuflected avant-garde to adumbrate the tone, the mimicry is transparent.
ok 4chan lisa
I thanked my American friend for leading me to this movie. ????
I recommend Prevenge if this movie appeals to you.
I am going to look into it now. Merci!
Oh I have viewed that. Ah well.
love this film, saw it for the first time in college with some friends from class, still one of my favourites
i like farts
good movie
“You aren’t a Jew- are you? Because I brought a German gun.” Lol this movie is hilarious with good points, good ending too!
You brought is enough to determine your cretinous subterfuge
Very good movie, I liked how starts like some edgy fantasy of the protagonist and then all becomes real on a very absurd way.
what a cute movie
What a great duo
Pretty funny, touching at times and violent to boot
Woo hoo
Holy kek now thats a talmundic movie
Yeah. In large parts, sure. He does go hard on the heavy critique of the trashiness of modern “Western” pop culture though, which is an inherently traditionalist-conservative point (or whatever other right-wing position). But then he does stuff like portray immigration restrictionists as “scared of foreigners”, which is the dumbest strawman argument that exists in favour of immigration/against restriction. There are only two real reasons anyone is opposed to immigration: the social and cultural changes (including the fact that immigrants overwhelmingly vote for the progressive left, and fundamentally alter the culture of the host society) and/or the economic effects (e.g. the fact that, in the US, three-quarters of all households headed by a Mexican immigrant receive some form of welfare, compared to under a quarter of European-headed households; or the fact that Europeans are the only ethnoracial group who are net tax contributors to the US treasury, meaning that they’re literally – and ironically – subsidising America’s diversity fetish). But, y’know, satire as a genre is almost entirely based on strawmen. If you had to accurately address all of the nuances, it wouldn’t be funny. Still, on balance, it’s a Hollywood production, and that means hardcore Jewish involvement by default, so you’re probably right.
*I should’ve clarified that “European” in this context means both new white immigrants from Europe and the original white founding stock of the modern (post-Amerindian) United States of America. The only issue with the data – which comes from one of the best and most comprehensive papers breaking down the demographics of taxpayers I’ve ever seen from any country – is that I highly doubt the raw source data distinguishes between white Europeans and Jews[1] (specifically Ashkenazim and Sephardim). But it wouldn’t make much difference anyway. The elite, among which the Jews are massively overrepresented, are the least likely to be footing massive IRS bills with all the loopholes available to them and their notorious accountant class.
[1] If you don’t understand Jews, you might not understand that they’re an ethnoreligious group (a whole set of ethnicities) who don’t consider themselves European nor even white (regardless of the fact that their liberal elites sometimes exploit their light skin to deceive non-Jewish white people by making declarations in favour of concepts like “white privilege” — in such cases, they’ll claim to have “white privilege”, despite not actually believing themselves to be white at all, thus making it a non-sequitur aimed only at manipulating white people).
oh gawd ;’) i love their relationship finally one that isn’t sexuallized beyond all belief, really makes you think….
this is the american dream. no other
Frank did as Roosevelt. just shoot stuuuuff duuuude
