although frequent borderline unbearable dialogue, you cannot deny that oftentimes this movie has legitimate points, and is a fun watch. i think it was a little left leaning, which is fine, almost all forms of art have some form of political bias, but i think it could have done better with commentating on either sides bullshit. probably like a 4/5.

Such a good fucking movie. He’s so right. This world is a disaster. More people need to see this. Wish it was able to be streamed elsewhere too. I love this website so much ugh. Always has the best movies.

Sorry I didn’t see this film earlier. Frank was right. This was a terrible place in 2011. And it’s only gotten worse since then.

I love this film, I’m glad it didn’t go for WOKE BAD and actually had a good social commentary, it’s not crazy deep but it’s solid and entertaining.
Also I like how it touched on “all men are pedophiles who like young women” That’s an absurd exaggeration used by white upper middle class women so that they can victimise themselves into feeling special.

Very good, particularly the girls performance, destined for stardom I think.
Unfortunately they didn’t target and eliminate enough people such as:
All those who put an ‘s’ on the end of ‘people’
All those now using UAP instead of UFO
All those who refer to ‘kamikaze’ drones
All those who use the initialism ‘LGBTQ’
All those saying ‘siblings’ instead of brothers and sisters
All those in movies who say ‘we can do this!’
All those who take a late scene in a movie and tag it on to the beginning for pointless shocking effect
All rappers and all those using ‘explicit lyrics’ in songs, and finally –
All supermarket check-out staff who say like robots ‘are you ok for bags/are you ok with your packing?’
I have 50 more but that will do for now.

Wait, written and directed by Bobcat Goldthwaite?! REALLY?! Wow, I’m fuckin’ impressed!! What a fantastic portrayal of the hideousness of most Americans (I AM one, I can judge). Anyone who hasn’t occasionally felt like Frank at least a little is part of the problem. Awesome movie; will watch it again for sure!!

One of the best parts was Frank saying he refuses to sexualize a teenager because this is the root of many problems in society. Couldn’t agree more. Fantastic movie

enjoyed it. the movie depicts what is going on in the united states pretty well. it was made over 10 years ago, but still very much relevant (it has become worse now). Frank seems to be the only sane mind in the movie, sadly that’s how much the society in this country has deteriorated.

Peoples comments had actually prevented me from giving this film a try but after episodes 1-4 of netflix ..Live to Lead.. I needed to cleanse my palate. It did the trick. I felt let-down at the beginning though and the next 30 minutes was testing my patience, after that it moved on at a nice pace purging my soul.
To me it felt like an update to ..Network, 1976.. with a touch of ..Badlands, 1973.. but a lot more upbeat and cheerful.
Well worth the wait.

Same as music trap artistry right? You’re able to decipher lyrically the slurs and ambiguity but it’s cataclysmic warfare… Your library is solely comprised of hatred

Very good movie, I liked how starts like some edgy fantasy of the protagonist and then all becomes real on a very absurd way.

The rants got a bit tedious, but otherwise it was a pretty entertaining movie. I agree with the sentiment, just found the delivery kinda contrived. Thanks EUM for another great evening.

This is actually a cute movie. A black comedy along the lines of “Heathers”. The politics are tongue-in-cheek as they go after a couple of over-the-top far-right wing nut jobs, yet they very happily embrace conservative values. If anything, I’d say they was a little mockery going on towards both sides. Besides, if you’re a fan of Space Ghost Coast to Coast you know Bobcat leans to the right in his politics. And then there’s the homage paid to Alice Cooper, a very open and vocal conservative. (can you believe that shit?!) But same with Ozzie and Gene Simmons and Johnny Rotten. A lot of those old rockers have moved to the right. Especially the punk rockers.

I also gave it an extra star for the doff-of-the-cap to Taxi Driver and Jackie Brown. Fans of those two movies should know what I’m talking about. If not, it’s the scene where he’s buying the gun. The gun salesman pretty much delivers the lines, word-for-word of the gun salesman in Taxi Driver… and
from Samuel L. Jackson’s AK-47 pitch in Jackie Brown.

And as always…. Thank you EUM guys. I truly appreciate you!

Thanks for the new film admins! Viewed because I read ol Bobcat directed it.

I would think if u liked Idiocracy, but wanted a bit more violence, black comedy, and social commentary, this’d b it. Heavy on the satire, I kept thinking it’d break the 4th wall and go full-on meta, yet that never happened. Prbly a good thing.

Good acting, good chemistry between the two protagonists, nothing really seemed cheap, production-wise. Enlisted a few chuckles from me, surprisingly. Dragged in a few parts tho, imo.

On a satirical black comedy level, I guess I found it slightly above average, 6/10. Them hating Juno made me round up;)

Detta movie had some hilarious moments. Many moments that had me laughing, pointing at the screen and screaming “ja!!!!!”. Although it also had some lower points. Example – bargain bin Abigail Breslin. I felt the film had much more potential before she was introduced.
Also, girls who constantly need to be told that they are pretty and fish for compliments.. really need to be added to that list.
