Plot – Spoilers:
Lorenzo has a regular boring office job, but still insists on recording his daily life on camera. He brightens these vlogs that are meant only for his personal consumption and collection by randomly irritating people on the street or by secretly spitting in the coffee of the office hottie. He’s got a steady girlfriend and there’s even talk of marriage.
Lorenzo is an extremely cynical man and this gives us a few dramatically awkward scenes at work and during a TV interview. The thing with him though is, he could be all smiley socially, but a lurking menace can quickly surface, especially when he’s not the one controlling his camera. And it’s soon revealed that beneath the regular life, the odd moodswing and social intolerance at work, Lorenzo has a deep distaste for women and regularly kidnaps, rapes and murders random women that catch his eye.
Lorenzo also talks to himself through his camera, sometimes revealing that he isn’t free of guilt or the awareness of his own evil. Esoteric ideas are discussed, where he often concludes that it is all meaningless anyway, thus possibly reiterating to himself that he might as well carry on doing what he does.
This is a relatively unknown Argentinian gem in my view.
Shaky cam POV style film to induce a headache while you listen to the story of a regular guy with a job who likes to beat, rape and kill women in his spare time. It ended how I thought it would but I was hoping that guy was going to drop the match. 2 and a half stars.

A few months back, all data got corrupted. The most recent backups couldn’t be reused because there were other stuff that had crept in over months that I hadn’t noticed and had been slowing down the site. The current movie rating isn’t ‘old’ enough to have accumulated enough votes to meaningfully use. Also, there’s no straightforward way to use the votes in a sort-them-and-display (with the current system), but it can be done. Once all movies have enough votes to meaningfully sort them, I’ll implement it.
Comment ratings were removed as they were a waste of resources. There are over 1000 movies here. At a very very conservative estimate of 50 comments per movie, multiply that with all the comment ratings and you’ll see how millions of database entries were being made, plus recaching each page, every single time. Plus people fighting over who might have downvoted them. Not worth it.

Something about the vibe triggered odd feelings in me. It reminded me of how I grew up being an only daughter of a single mom… oh the loneliness. I wasn’t pleasantly surprised when I came across this one. This story shows that approaching a controversial topic as a discourse ends up being more of an apology for it than a critique or an attempt to raise awareness. An unnecessary film that gives a voice to a type of unpleasant person who represents the worst of society. We already know they exist, we already know what we’re dealing with, so why poke the wound if it’s not going to have any consequence that generates positive change, but only repulsion.
