Plot – Spoilers:
A prostitute, Carla, wakes up to her captivity in what’s called The Hole – a stopover for traffickers to keep their goods until they’re ready for their next move. In the room is another more informed and fatalistic prostitute, unlike Carla, who’s naive and optimistic that her pimp will soon be there to get her out. The two women spend some awkward time together before the next act in the story – a little girl – joins them, ostensibly to be trafficked too.
Random Thoughts on the ending – Massive Spoilers
Not that Life in the Hole is some deep and great movie that deserves reflection. But if you sat through it, you end up wondering what the fuck was going on with the little girl. Was she real or just straight out of Carla’s mind. Perhaps, the guilt from her past where she unwittingly? handed over a child to a trafficker.
But what would make this film more effed up and redeem your time would be if the kid was part of The Hole and used to break people by forcing them to make certain choices that later plunge them into despair.
