This is a workaround method but has the minor disadvantage that English-language movies with optional subtitles in the normal player will not include subs here.

Plot – Spoilers:
Irina is studying to be a textile professional, but her mind can’t reconcile with the capitalistic aspects of all the theory she often needs to sit through in class. Her negativity is further fueled by a recent breakup and so when she receives a job offer to work at a small textile company in Kyrsyä located in the middle of nowhere, she quietly hops on a bus.
At Kyrsyä she finds herself in a commune where the people talk like they live inside a folk tale and act like they’ve been away from sun and air for far too long. But the idyllic settings of the place softens their weirdness and their strong distrust of the big world is charming and agreeable to Irina’s melancholic phase. So even though she witnesses a few intimidating events, her light contempt for the people there fills her with the confidence that she’s a big girl who can handle herself…
“A commune where the people talk like they live inside a folk tale and act like they’ve been away from sun and air for far too long.” That made me laugh and it summs up this comedy pretty well. And it is comedy of sort allright. Believe me, I’m Finn, we have weird sence of humour sometimes. (ツ)
not enough boobs
Not sure about the ending but still an interesting movie.
Not sure if I liked the movie or I just felt in love with the main actress… very weird movie, a bit slow to build up and the ending is just plain confusing… not bad but could have been better
Midsommers better. Man, that guy drinking the bowl of menstrual blood was… interesting. Yes, quite a “treat” lol.
disappointing…
very good – Midsommar had similarities to this but nowhere near as good in capturing the strangeness of a cult/community
Alllllllrighty then… This was an interesting movie, to say the least. It could have gone in about a million different directions but it chose the path of nonsense. Not that that’s necessarily a bad thing… it’s just a weird thing. It’s the difference between a “Holy shit! That was a killer movie” and a “WTFDIJW” (what the fuck did I just watch) movie. And this one, I’ve really got to go with WTFDIJW. Imho, a much better ending would have been for Mongo to come out of his shed and hack everyone into little pieces with a variety of garden tools…. and then sat down to a nice candlelit supper of brain and intestines… but that’s just me.
Once again, I would like to thank the fine folks at EUM for all the work they do to keep me amused.
