Hard to believe that “Bambi” is already 70 years old and yet no other pieces of animation ever came close to it. You can mention “Beauty and the Beast” and “The Lion King”, any Disney’s acclaimed masterpiece, still, nothing can beat the good old animation drawn by hand and on that level, watching “Bambi” is like admiring the ‘Mona Lisa’ of Animation. The American Film Institute recognized “Bambi” as number three in its Top Ten Animated films right after “Pinocchio” and “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”. I guess, the pioneer deserved the top spot if only because without “Snow White”, there wouldn’t have been “Bambi”. And the progresses made between the two films are tremendous; look closer to the animal designs, in the former they look like animated creatures from short cartoons, while “Bambi” doesn’t focus only on aesthetics but also on scientific exactitude. The film doesn’t forget to be simply Animation, but the realism of the landscape, the drawing, everything makes it hard to believe that it was made only five years after “Snow White”. “Bambi” is a tribute for the inspiring level of perfectionism that elevated its animated movies at the same level of Hollywood’s greatest masterpieces, it’s a tribute to Disney’s ambitions as a true film-maker, as he never took anything for granted. Considering how much verbiage this upload has got I think justifies the decision to have it as part of the site. It would therefore make sense to upload the other two of pootubers series which are said to be worse (I doubt it). I wont watch 2 but I might have a peak at 3 just to see if any real effort has been made in its editing (I doubt it again).
However I would like at least something else to actually watch. Miss Meadows being a good example of a palate cleanser. Tiptoes, 2003 (is available elsewhere 90 min version) or something similar please.

Forgive an old fart from the 90’s for saying this but MDPOPE must be the most egocentric person alive if he thinks that smashing a bunch of this content into a video makes him what he claims to be. Back in the day, when the internet was still a luxury, we watched stuff like this until we were all burned out on it. Some scenes here were a bit much (like the goddamn god Asian trash bitch and the kitten) Some scenes were truly funny, some raised thought provoking questions (Why do Japs even shit yellow?) while others were just routine. I knew that the direction of the film was going to end up being banal when I saw it had old videos from sites from the 2000’s like LiveLeak and Bestgore (r.i.p.). Inasmuch as I love and miss the latter, the only thing going over there usually did was make me hungry and horny.
But having said that, I still gave this three stars for making me wax nostalgic.
