Basket Case 1 (1982)

Option 1Can't Watch?

Wait 30secs. Movie still not playing? Click the "Can't Watch?" tab.

If the movie didn't load, it means you are being blocked by a security service we use. This can happen for a number of reasons.

Click this first

A new tab will open and a basic security check like a captcha will be performed. After completing the check, close that page and return here.

Refresh this page. Wait 10 secs. The movie should load and you can just hit play.

If it still doesn't play, Click here to watch the movie

The movie should now start playing in a new tab of your browser or begin downloading to your device.

If you're still having problems, try using 'Incognito mode' in your browser. On iPhones, especially older ones, use Chrome instead of Safari. Might help.

IMPORTANT: Please make sure that the newly opened tab is not an ad popup asking you to download some software or whatever. Close any such popups and don't download any software - those are ads. Nothing is needed to be done by you other than to complete the security check which is often automated.

This last option has the minor disadvantage that English-language movies with optional subtitles in the movie player will not include these subs.

Basket Case is campy ’80s trash for those in love with campy ’80s trash.

I just watched all 3 “Basket Case” movies in a row. After seeing #2 & #3 it seems like #1 is great by accident. The 1st one works on all levels. Some negatives for other films turn out to be positives for this one. “Basket Case 1” benefits from a low budget production, not great actors and non state-of-the-arts special effects coming together perfectly with a crazy script. The first time you lay eyes on Belial is a memorable, once in a lifetime event. His charm is that the special effects are not great. Add in a seedy rooming house in NYC and you have the perfect elements for what became a classic. 4 stars. #2 & #3 are not nearly as good.

Laughed at this one, especially the thing in the basket which bears a striking resemblance to a raw chicken carcass LOL.

I can not believe I have never seen this campy gem before! I really enjoyed this laugh-fest like it was meant to be – with a fat, stinky bud and a cocktail – or three. This just replaced Manos, The Hands of Fate as my new favorite campy-camp camp movie. Thing is Manos was NOT meant to be funny, whereas Basket Case was destined to be a lol-a-minute type of film. But then again, Torgo and his theme song will always be one of the funniest non-funny creations in all moviedom.

Thank you, EUM for posting this one. You guys sooo rock this website!

The acting is sub par at best, but thats what gives it a certain charm imo. Nice effects for an 80s film, a simple story but it works well. I really love these old classics, bc I grew up with them. A nice revisit. thanx EUM for this, you are legends. P.S, There is a part two, hint, hint which is just as good.
