Plot – Spoilers:
Just like in Cube 1, several people awaken in a mysterious cube-shaped room with no recollection of how they arrived there. Most of them reveal the exploratory trait that is innate to humankind and decide to try and get out of there rather than just sit around and wait for something to happen. Each room has six portals which lead into similar rooms. Sometimes the rooms loop and the folks end up where they started, other times they loop and encounter parallel versions of themselves.

Compared to Cube 1, the rooms here are more sophisticated and the portals less mechanical. Time dilation is also present in this upgraded version of the Cube. What has also been upgraded is the lead actress, Kari Matchett, who is sexier and more watchable than the women in Cube 1. Also, unlike in the first part, there are no real traps in each room – more like strange multidimensional phenomena that appear on and off chasing them away from certain rooms.

Like in the first part, you have the handicapped trope with a caring motherly figure. In this case, by the end, it is somewhat clear that there was a purpose behind the overt concern and care for blind Sasha. So in that way, it’s less annoying (even if in retrospect). Another difference is that, while 1 was mostly about getting the hell out of there, this one sees the characters spending long conversations theorizing on the Cube and its origins.

Favourite Scenes:
The scene were Max and Julia are fornicating, as witnessed by Kate from another room having a different time-speed which causes Max & Julia to appear to be humping away in ecstasy into eternity.

not detrimentally terrible, just strange that not even a single character is looking for a way out

Good sequel. The lead male character looks a lot like Rowdy Roddy Piper
