Africa Addio (1966)

Option 1Can't Watch?

Wait 30secs. Movie still not playing? Click the "Can't Watch?" tab.

If the movie didn't load, it means you are being blocked by a security service we use. This can happen for a number of reasons.

Click this first

A new tab will open and a basic security check like a captcha will be performed. After completing the check, close that page and return here.

Refresh this page. Wait 30 secs. The movie should load and you can just hit play.

If it still doesn't play, Click here to watch the movie

The movie should now start playing in a new tab of your browser or begin downloading to your device. This option has the minor disadvantage that English-language movies with optional subtitles in the movie player will not include these subs with this method.

The new system here has been designed keeping in mind even people with low internet speeds sub-8mbps. Even if you have a really bad connection, you should still be able to watch the movie without any issues if you:
Start the movie. Pause it. Wait for 30-45 seconds. Start playing again.

This 'Can't Watch' method really only works if it's your specific device/browser that's interfering with the player. There is no real advantage of speed here. Or if there is a temp network glitch or read lag from the server disk.

If you're still having problems, try using 'Incognito mode' in your browser. On iPhones, especially older ones, use Chrome instead of Safari. Might help.

IMPORTANT: Please make sure that the newly opened tab is not an ad popup asking you to download some software or whatever. Close any such popups and don't download any software - those are ads. Nothing is needed to be done by you other than to complete the security check which is often automated.

AKA: Africa: Blood and Guts, Farewell Africa
Directed by: Gualtiero Jacopetti, Franco E. Prosperi
Country: Italy; Effed Up European Cinema
Language: Italian (Eng Subs); Effed Up Italian Movies
Runtime: 02:18:35
Genres: Shockumentary, Gore-Gruesome, Violence Against Animals, Racism/Race-related

About:
Africa Addio begins with a lament about the fading away of the western romantic notion of what Africa is, before vividly exploring the chaotic, polarizing and confusing realities prevalent whenever there is a transfer of power.

Made in the ’60s by Mondo masters, Jacopetti & Prosperi, Africa Addio is mostly a show of journalistic prowess, despite the claims of staging that have never been proved or admitted.

Just like most Mondo films I’ve seen – it is interesting and boring AF at the same time. Lots of animal slaughter of elephants, antelopes, hippos, etc. in the first half. The second half looked, at first, like it was going to be a repeat of the first half with more animal slaughter. Then suddenly we see some clean white pretty girls running on a beach in bikinis and jumping on trampolines. Immediately after that we see semi nude bush boogie women with short afros who look like coconut head men with tits dancing to some double Dutch type shit. The contrast is obvious. The “combat” scenes later in the film looked staged big time. There is some great camera work and some breathtaking areal shots. It’s more or less like a PBS or National Geographic documentary which is way too long. This film is considered to be a very important breakthrough in Mondo film making. Yawn. 2 stars.

You can just take a peek at the comments and ask yourselves wtf is wrong with white people? Except the fact that your family tree is built like circle.

Wow, that was a shitty watch. One of those movies you have to be under the influence of alcohol to endure.
