Demonlover is a French thriller on corporate plots and schemes that go into the control of internet perversions.
Diane is the ambitious PA to Volf, head of a large French corporation that is into varied global businesses ranging from the Internet to real estate. On a return flight from a business meeting, she drugs and incapacitates her senior executive with the aim of taking her place in the company. Her main target is to oversee an upcoming deal with a Japanese anime studio who specialize in Hentai – Diane is actually a mole for Mangatronics, an internet company, whose main American rival, Demonlover are tipped to acquire distribution rights to all of Volf’s internet properties.
Diane gets what she was aiming for, but soon finds a note on her desk suggesting her secret’s out. Apart from now being conscious of her every move, she also has to deal with a hostile junior executive, Elise and the ruthless, yet amorous Hervé, while the pressure from her handlers begins to mount. Meanwhile, the American company Demonlover appear to be connected to a nasty spot on the web that threatens to translate into irl danger for some concerned.
I had previously skipped by this one just because of the title “Demonlover,” thinking it was some sort of low budget stupid horror flick. Instead we get a film filled with espionage and intrigue that tries to be so clever it winds up going up it’s own ass occasionally. However, all is not lost. Though you may be wondering at times where the plot veers off to after several twists and turns, the film still manages to keep your attention, regardless of whether you have a clue about what the fuck is going on or not, mainly because of Connie Nielsen as “Diane.” I was hoping that there would be something to tie it all together at the end so it would make some sort of sense but that didn’t happen (for me, anyway). Maybe on a 2nd viewing I will be able to grasp the concept a little better. Not sure why but I thought it was really good. 4 stars. Life is complicated.

Personally, I found the film difficult to follow especially with the plot jumping back and forward as much as did.
I knew about the time I read the synopsis that this was over convulted mess! This movie was obnoxiously incoherent and a massive bore. Not once did I understand what was actually happening and after awhile I found myself not caring either. Fuck this movie!! 0/10

Nonsensical, boring, and painfully predictable
Excellent movie IMO: well directed, good acting, and a PLOT (which a lot of movies on here don’t have),
