Plot – Spoilers:
A young woman is being interrogated in connection with the mutilation, vivisection and killing of over 25 men. While she’s coherent in her replies, she refers to a higher force and the killings as some kind of offering to them.
Her Name Was Torment is a torture flick presented in a surrealistic tone. What probably sets this apart from others of its kind is an erotic scene of necrophilia that’s quite enjoyable for those with such grave concerns in life.
Some folks on here love movies like this one and the “Faces of Death,” “Faces of Gore,” “Death Files” type of stuff. I’m not crazy about low budget gore films with shitty dialog or faked deaths, like in “Faces of Death.” Call me a mainstreamer but I would rather watch “Angel Heart” any day over this. “Her Name Is Torment” just seems like a really shitty low budget art project. I’m not going to rate it.

A low budget indie film, and taking that into account some of the special effects were done well. As a torture flick the plot is limited, though the interview scenes and narrative do add an intriguing layer of the killings being at the behest of … ? Indeed, the interview sections were nicely spaced between the torture, and the use of colour and B&W was well done (i.e., restrained and not continually flicking between the two). Also lots of scenes showing her top bollocks. All in all not a bad little indie film which doesn’t over stay its welcome being just 50 min long. 3/5 pliers

As a movie it had a lot of faults, but I love being in the protagonist’s head and seeing what the severely ‘insane’ see. Horrible things happen IRL and we shake our heads and say “What kind of MONSTER can do such things?” Some people seem perfectly fine, but inside, they are not processing the world as we are. Our reality is not theirs so our rules do not apply to them, nor do our interpretations or incoming data. We see angles and demons as fantasy, because we CAN’T see them. Maybe when you do see them and hear them they don’t look like you would think and they don’t tell you to do the sorts of things you would think they would want you to do.
