Plot – Spoilers:
Prime Monica Bellucci plays Malena, a young beauty in a small Italian town, whose husband is away in Africa fighting in WW2. Malena keeps her head down while out in public, but the women resent her and the men lust after the unattainable goddess and so crack vulgar jokes amongst themselves, while keeping a respectful distance. The teenage boys follow her around and can only talk in hushed whispers when she’s in sight and mimic their elders when by themselves.
Renato is one of the younger boys, eager-faced and hopeful that the bigger boys will include him in their activities. Renato’s initial problems are that he’s stuck in his boyish shorts and that father won’t allow him to wear long pants. But then he sees Malena and obsessively begins to stalk her, even finding a vantage tree outside her house from which he can spy on her. As rumours borne out of jealousy begin to spread about Malena, Renato feels protective and even hurt, when claims are made against her chastity.
Malena makes up for its dramatic side actors with leads that are good for their parts, while also quite beautifully capturing fantasies that a lot of men would have had at some point during their boyhoods. It’s also for this reason possibly, that the movie never really courted the outrage that it might have, had scenes similar to here been filmed elsewhere, but with the genders reversed.

Wanna watch a yuck-it-up comedy about a little jerkoff teenage boy who lusts after the ass of a middle aged woman with big tits and a nice ass? What the fuck is this shit and why is it on this website? It’s got that cutesy-pie music throughout with the nudge, nudge, wink, wink sexual innuendo jokes. For anyone that thinks I have lousy taste in films I want you to watch this piece of shit and don’t watch any movies I like. OMH says this movie sucks so OMH haters should love this sucking comedy. 1 star.

A great film! Monica Bellucci at her best! I liked the scenery of 40s Sicily and the atmosphere of local gossip and critique, a bit exaggerated of course. A great opening scene, the contrast , the Italian people listening to Mussolini’s speech declaring war to Britain and France and Malena putting her stockings on for another sexy parade. people go and die brainwashed for stupid ideas while there is so much pussy around… 4*
