I’ve only ever seen this film the once, at the flicks when it came out, I was with my mum. From the moment it started and for the next two hours I was utterly transfixed by the absolute brilliance of this physically brutal and spiritually challenging masterpiece.

JIM CAVIEZEL HAS A STRIKINGLY CLASSICAL LOOK: HIGH, SCULPTED CHEEKBONES, A WELL-DEFINED JAWLINE, AND BALANCED, SYMMETRICAL FEATURES THAT PHOTOGRAPH BEAUTIFULLY FROM ANY ANGLE. HIS EYES CARRY A CALM INTENSITY, OFTEN GIVING HIS EXPRESSIONS A CONTEMPLATIVE, ALMOST SPIRITUAL QUALITY.
PHYSICALLY, HE MAINTAINS A LEAN, ATHLETIC FRAME WITH BROAD SHOULDERS, A NARROW WAIST, AND NATURAL POSTURE THAT PROJECTS BOTH STRENGTH AND GENTLENESS. HIS MOVEMENTS ON SCREEN TEND TO BE CONTROLLED AND GRACEFUL RATHER THAN FORCEFUL, WHICH ADDS TO A SENSE OF QUIET DIGNITY. POWERFUL !

Visto quando uscì sul grande schermo, non pensavo di trovarlo in questo sito e ne sono molto contenta. Apprezzo la scelta della recitazione in aramaico. Jim Caviezel é molto bravo ad interpretare il personaggio, gli potevano tributare almeno qualche riconoscenza. Senza alcun dubbio il Gesù più sofferto e drammatico che io abbia mai visto in una trasposizione cinematografica. Le scene di tortura e crocifissione sono di un cruento da far piangere l’anima
