Plot – Spoilers:
University students out in the woods shooting a bad horror film hear the news that the dead have started walking and decide to beat it. Their budding director however decides to continue shooting the subsequent events and so what we see is a sort of found-footage view of what transpired, complete with a doomsday voiceover from Terminator 2.
Being a Romero film, the zombies, though rare and lacking in practical effects, are pretty good, especially one where acid dissolves its head as it stumbles around. There’s also an annoying alcoholic professor wielding a bow-and-arrow who’s supposed to be British and who calls everyone darling often, to try and emphasize this. Other than that, it’s here mostly as part of the Night of the Living Dead series.
I wonder if he’ll do a “Afternoon of the Dead” or a “Dusk of the Dead?
Probably not since he too is dead
Bummer, no makin’ movies from the grave….
Land of the Dead? When the hell did that happen?
Man I would be thrilled if y’all added a que, there are so many I want to watch🙏🏻
EUM guys, seeing as I am stickler for details, you havent included the run time above. Cheers.
Added. Thanks.
Why are you always such an annoying pig?
Don’t start shit. That’s so 2 movies ago.
Coming from you Cole, that’s super rich.
u got a fucking hole in ur face and u look like a pig with ur scummy pom lard
classic romero ingenuity combined with modern aspects, don’t forget your cameras kids!
didnt see any milk
Its actually pretty good, Being second last in George Romeros ‘Dead Saga’ well imo it was better than ‘Land of the dead’ which proceeded it & a whole lot better than ‘Island of the dead’ which followed, it, while not over the top it has some decent gore & a nod to “found footage” type films which where the popular thing at that time & that scenario fits in & makes for a credible storyline, as mentioned before one of the better ones after the original classic 3 Romero ‘ Dead’ films.
I saw both films at the cinema. As much as I enjoyed ‘Land’, ‘Diary’ is better. Both times the cinema wasn’t very full which I always thought was a shame.
I definitely didn’t dislike ‘Land’ just something about ‘Diary’ clicked with me, it kind of went back to the old narrative of survivors lost in a zombie outbreak with the added found footage style of the period rather than the more grand new world type thing of ‘Land of the dead’ either way I’d have loved the opportunity to see both films on the big screen in a theatre & i agree its a shame they weren’t well attended, both are solid horror flicks!
