Plot – Spoilers:
Sarah is babysitting her friend’s kids on Halloween night. The kids are bored with her, emboldened by ‘stuff they’ve seen on the internet’, and feel she’s patronizing their age. So when one of them finds a VHS tape he received while trick-or-treating, they bully her into letting them watch it. The tape contains a few short films featuring Art the Clown in a number of vile acts.

As the night rolls by, the kids aren’t that fearless anymore, and neither is Sarah as the horror steps closer home.

Clickbait cover. Sure, the clown looks scary, but he’s inefficient and incompetent as a killer in the movie. Or maybe, he just like to wasting his time on catching his preys who are so bad at escaping from him.

As for the other killer, why was there an alien in this movie if the clown had to appear twice? Is it a cameo role? Or a filler scene?

The ending was also too anti-climatic. I really thought the kids would have been the first to survive since they hadn’t watched all the VHS(?) movies, or at least have a scene of struggling to survive, but it turned out that they’re not. This made the opening scenes with them so insignificant since they didn’t literally do anything except to watch and sleep as characters in a HORROR movie.

2/5 for me.

I’m especially pissed at the actress of the third VHS movie who was LAUGHING when she needed to look scared. The plot was already boring like how tf does it take long for the killers to kill them when they were so dumb at running away from them. The movie even became worse because of acting like hers.

That’s the whole point! It’s a parody on 50’s-80′ s horror ,didn’t you notice the deliberate crackles to make the video she was watching to make it look old and crackly
?

Just want to say I.found your site last week purely by accident and have been addicted to it ever since .I.really comment you for not just catering to the slasher/ gore brigade ( tend to be men under the age of 40 ) and you’ve included some really surreal more ‘ art house’ cinema & documentaries too .I see you have included some British films which made me happy being a Scouser originally from Liverpool in northern England .
Not sure if you’ve seen many British psychological dramas & horror films but I see you’ve included ‘ Straw Dogs ‘ & A Clockwork Orange ‘ which is brilliant .Not sure if you’ve included many Ken Russell films but I’ s definitely suggest you include ‘ The Devils ‘ too ,to your list .If I.say so myself we make some wonderful films & especially social realist documentaries over here…England went back into full lockdown again on the 5 th November ,huge thank you for entertaining g me with madness ! ? lol x

Indeed ! I liked the cake crackling effect to replicated ageing on the filming too .lol.I just admit ( probably because I’ m getting old & not from America either) I’m not hugely into modern gore/ slasher horror & definitely can’t cope with the whole women chained up by some nutter being raped scenario .One film I did watch again the other night was Roman Polanski ‘s Rosemary’s Baby…Wow ,after 50 yrs it’s still incredibly menacing & beautifully filmed too .I noticed they have the 50’ s film Peeping Tom on this site ,still a really disturbing film & more or less destroyed the head actor ‘s life because just like Linda Blair people were terrified of him in real life forever after forever !

I just read that comment and thought ‘ What a decent appraisal ,somebody actually appreciates classic 60’s/70’s scary films’ ..then looked to see who had written it & it was ME !lol

Only the last short was of any value, the other two were just plain silly imo. I am not a big clown fan but I do like lots of gore and torture ( yeah, I know I am sick ) and I found not that much in this film. I am, however looking forward to watching Terrifier the movie as I have heard good things about it. Cheers all.

That’s because this movie is basically just padding they came up with so that the original short (the 3rd one) could be distributed as a feature. Watch Terrifier though, it’s pretty great if you just want something gory.
