Plot – Spoilers:
A couple of wealthy high school friends Richard and Justin keep their friendship secret in pursuit of executing the perfect murder. The idea emerges from ennui and a perceived intellectual superiority to the police they despise. And so they decide to randomly pick out a woman and stage the body in a manner designed to throw the detectives off their scent.
Murder by Numbers has its critics but is still noteworthy for the performances by Pitt and Gosling and the fact that it is based on a true murder (by Leopold and Loeb).
I like big budget well produced movies. Sandra Bullock is a well known actress and there is a reason for that. She is really good at what she does. The only movie I have seen prior to this one with Sandra in it is “Gravity” (2013) and remember thinking it was a great movie (I haven’t seen it in a long time). “Murder By Numbers” is allegedly based on the Leopold and Loeb murder case, but that murder happened in 1924 and both of the suspects lived to see their trials (Loeb was killed in prison), and the victim was Bobby Franks, a 14 year old boy, not a woman. Honestly, I didn’t really know what to expect going in to this film. I’m sure Sandra Bullock is the reigning queen of rom-coms but I don’t seek those out as films I wish to view, so I’m not familiar with her acting. I thought this movie was fantastic and the cast were great, especially Sandra. The only small criticism I have is at about 58:40 after Sandra gets bit by the monkey. She comes out of her slumber after being pumped up with drugs and looks like she just came out of the beauty parlor. R. D. Call has the role of “Captain Rod Cody.” I remember R. D. A fine acting cast aided by the very versatile actress Sandra Bullock. A very exciting and intriguing final fifteen minutes.
Pitt looks like an owl, and gosling like some type of bird. Like that pino guy from sesame street.
Terrific! Ryan Gosling really stands out. His very best in my opinion is: Fracture 2007

Anyhow best has to be when justin tells that girl they killed a girl . She then goes oh you luike could not had done that . you was seduced by him like me . Well she was sleepong with him ,so in other word she indirectly called him a shitshuffler right after he told he had killed someone …. Seems like a good time imply he had been seduced by sleeping with richard like she did …
But hey atleast we did not had to watch that and yea acting apart from Bullock play the type she play in like 90%+ her movies she acts good and not looks bad so … well guess oweral a good movie …
Yeah, enjoyable enough tho not really fucked up. Highlight was Sandra Bullock, I could watch her all day long. She is a top actress and not bad to look at either. Would not say no.
I was hesitant to watch this but it turned out really good. The acting was fantastic, Ryan Gosling and Sandra Bullock were perfect. Not as gorey as other films on this site but still had fucked up scenes. Disturbing vibe throughout, very enjoyable. Definetly check this out if your into Mystery/Killers/Detective
