A remake of the 1978 Rape & Revenge classic, I Spit On Your Grave has a few plot deviations but mostly sticks to the original concept – a writer looking for calm and quiet heads to a cabin but attracts the unsolicited attention of a group of boorish locals who want a piece of her.
Unlike in the original, the first time Jennifer interacts with the group at the bunk, there is an instant hostility and the class divide is immediate, leading to the inevitable resentment. The revenge aspect has also been given greater attention here and is more brutal and detailed.

Every bit as thought provoking as the original and certainly the revenge scenes are a lot more macabre. Not really explained how she survived and went but give it some license I guess.
I think it would be more exciting if the trigger of the shotgun was connected to the Sheriff’s own daughter so the girl would watch his dad getting destroyed from the ass.
She makes no effort to understand the perspectives and personal backgrounds of the men she capriciously kills. Dating and relationships sometimes involve quarrels, but she’s too immature to understand this and instead enters into this “speed-dating” mentality in which guys have to behave in precisely the right way or she rushes off to the next one…oh, but not before killing them first. What she needs is an internship in the sex-trafficking industry; then, perhaps, she’ll make the realization that relationships are not one-sided and that they require being considerate to one’s partner as well as demonstrating constructive, adult behavior rather than adolescent temper tantrums.
